We booked 2 nights at The Old Dairy. Unsure what to expect but when we arrived we were both very pleasantly surprised. Michelle is definitely the hostess with the mostest, made us very welcome. The free continental breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Hope Michelle & David enjoy their long overdue break. John & Sallie

We came down from County Durham to celebrate a birthday for the weekend and we chose the old dairy to stay. It’s on a quiet residential street and we found the owners friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable, and the room and bathroom were very clean. We really couldn’t complain about anything. It’s roughly £8-£10 for an Uber into the city centre (we never tried the buses) but noticed there were plenty about. I can’t understand some of the bad reviews on here, we really couldn’t fault the place.

Do not stay there . The place is run by rude, entiteled people. Absolutely horrible conditions. Location very unconvinient for town centre. 8pm curfew is like staying at your very strickt aunts place then a gueshouse. Would give 0 stars if it was possible.

Just to clarify to the reader & potential new guests: this person did NOT stay at our property, she has done a review based on her online conversations with us which took place on a 3rd party online booking site, the conversation you can see below which have been copied and pasted exactly as they took place. nothing left out! However, before you read it ( if indeed you think it worthy of your time) it would like to point out that this guest has been dishonest. Her stay was due to take place starting 20 th May and as you can see she paced this review on 15th May and actually wrote it as if she had actually stayed her already. We are very clear in our polices about check-in hours being from 2-8pm & 12 -6pm sat & Sundays. As self employed proprietors its up to us to set our work hours. We do however realise & appreciate that it can be restrictive for potential guests who may not be able to make those times, in which case they will choose to stay elsewhere & those who can, will stay with us. Also note we are fully booked every single weekend so there are plenty of people who can and do get here by 8pm!! Basically this customer was indeed the one who was being 'entitled' even though she accused us of being just that, by her telling us that she will be late and because we are in the service industry we should accommodate her no matter what !! Well if anyone thinks that then i urge you to stay elsewhere, we dont want you here ! Im not going to say much more on this as the vast majority of our reviews tell a completely different tale about us and how we go the extra mile for our guests. Other than: this person realised she was not entitled to a refund ( which she did get by the way ) she turned into a keyboard warrior and made a dishonest review. Always when people dont get their own way or make a mistake in not reading all of the info provided, they accuse the us of being rude just because they were refused something or were told they had made a mistake!! 20 Yrs experience in this business and we have seen and heard it all ABSOLUTELY NO APOLOGY DUE TO THIS PERSON WHO MADE THE REVIEW AS SHE IS DISHONEST AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE TRANSCRIPTS BELOW Check in Hi, I just wanted to notify that we will need to check in on Friday around 9pm due to the train times.I hope that’s ok with you Kind regards-Agnieszka Sorry that’s not possible 8 o’clock is the last checkin time Re: You have a message from The Old Dairy Liverpool In that case can we cancel free of charge . We are not able to arrive before 8 o’clock due to work commitments and in your email it was not stated that late check in are not possible just that you need advanced notice. Kind Regards, Agnieszka I'd like to request free cancellation for this booking. For personal reasons, guest is asking to cancel this reservation free of charge. Decline late arrival information is clear to see No , it is not clear . It is just saying don’t assume you can check in without notyfing us. 8 pm is a ridiculous cut off time anyway is like you do guest a favour to let them stay at your Guesthouse. You charge enough money for a very small room with no breakfast to accommodate a slightly later check in. I will take it up with Booking.com and pursue full refund you had a confirmation email on the 18th of march which clearly states our last arrival time and you are only now asking for a late arrival , if this was not possible due to your circumstances you would have been granted a full free cancellation In case you are not aware most people who can afford to travel and pay your prices are working. Work hours sometimes change without much notice . You are a Guesthouse and should be able to accommodate check ins after 8 pm occasionally. Is not like an audience with the Queen though it’s seems that you consider yourself that. You work in the service industry and your guests are not there to fund your mortgage and you should be more accommodating therefore. Anyway I will peruse the matter with Booking.com and make sure to leave reviews on every available platform to warn people not to stay at your military base camp. I’m sorry you feel this way but you have had plenty of time to cancel but unfortunately left it too late I’ve readvertised the room we will see what we can do if it resells Regards David And Michelle You have received a free cancellation from ourselves because we resold the room Ok as you have already given a false review on trip advisor and are attempting to damage our reputation online, just as you threatened to do so earlier on this platform, We have already taken legal advice in this matter and you will be contacted shortly by our legal team regarding deformation of character , Regards David & Michelle I did write a true review as to your approach to check in times. One review true review does not defame your character but your incessant and persisting way of contacting me does constitute harrasment and stalking and if you do not decease those actions I will report this matter to the police. Kind Regards, Agnieszka Did you receive a full refund as requested ? Please feel free to contact the police and after they have stopped laughing get in touch with a solicitor your going to need one , you will not get away with this behaviour you are making a big mistake lady .

We just stayed for 3 nights whilst on a birthday weekend away to watch the Grand National. This place is lovely and clean, very comfy beds, breakfast had everything you needed & great access to city centre, but the best bit was Michelle & David, they are fabulous hosts who cannot do enough for you! The banter was on point to, right up our alley! We will definitely be back guys, and thank you so much for making my birthday weekend so special 💙

We stayed this week at the Old Dairy as part of a holiday group and this week our theme was The Beatles Tribute Week. David and Michelle went above and beyond for us to ensure our holiday ran as smoothly as it should. They made us feel so welcome, and David even threw a few bad jokes in for entertainment 😉 thanks for having us, and we hope to see you again soon.
