The location of this hotel was great, it’s easy to walk to all the main sights, the docks, the shopping, the cavern club. The room itself was clean and tidy and good, modern decor. However we booked a basement pod windowless room which wasn’t obvious...More
We stayed for two nights in a double room on the first floor. The room was basic but sufficiently sized for two people and the bathroom was nice and clean with a tub and good tiles.
Staff was very friendly, good-humoured and welcoming.
I stayed in the hotel for 1 night with 5 friends. We had 2 rooms and both were in the basement. The room was big and spacious, clean modern décor and a 4min walk from the station which was ideal. It cost £3 in a...More
Stayed here for a few days. The room had no window so it was quite stuffy. The bathroom was spacious but overall the room was small and had a bad smell. Do not let the guy order you a taxi.. ripped off.
Lovely place. Room was small but functional and couldn't have asked for more. Staff were fab, really friendly and helpful. I was staying on my own and it was just what I needed. Bathroom was spacious, which compared to other hotel I stayed in was...More

I really don't think there will be an issue. I can appreciate what others are saying about feeling claustrophobic but chances are you won't miss a window at that time of year. The hotel is quirky so what is more likely in my opinion is that the layout itself could be off putting - depends on the physicality of your mother and yourself.
On the positive side, it is a good location and rooms are modern and clean. I would give it a go - I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
Hi Sarah there is a car park just up and directly across from the hotel. When I stayed the hotel actually gave me a voucher for a major discount. So before you arrive ask the hotel if this promotion is still available.
