So when we turned up to this hotel the outside looked horrific , dirty, dingy, slightly spooky. The reception guy seemed pleasant however. My partner instantly said it was like the happiness hotel from the muppet show! Once I googled it I completely got what he meant ! Absolute dive but the staff are oblivious and extra happy! The carpets in the hallways are threadbare and ripped. Everything was just a bit rough around the edges. The room smelt of damp, tiles in the bathroom were cracked, our window didn't stay open either so we couldn't even get rid of the smell. However the bed , and bathroom overall was clean and as we were just using it for a place to sleep we didn't complain. The location is amazing, very central but I still think overpriced for the very basic facilities and standard they offer. Also I hope nothing dodgy is going on but they wouldn't let us pay by card , they said the card machine was faulty. Then when we gave cash to settle our bill the man said he couldn't even put it through the computer because of the weather 😒 the weather was fine just a bit cloudy. So we didn't even get a receipt so don't even think that our payment was recorded ! We will not be returning!

Really friendly staff, breakfast complimentary and very nice. Room not great, quite dusty and neglected. Shower wouldn't regulate temperature right so got scolded a few times. Lift out of order also. Bathroom very basic and toilet seat kept sliding off. Won't be staying again quite a neglected hotel.

The staff here are really friendly and helpful, but the hotel is quite down at heel. Stained shabby carpets, a general feeling of disrepair and we could feel the mattress springs on our bed! Didn’t feel like value for money at £99 for sure. Luckily we had Expedia points which took £22 off.

I was visiting Liverpool for the first time and used this as a base for a few days. It is right in the city, behind lime street station and the empire theatre so convenient for getting around. Room was clean, comfy bed and hot shower. WiFi was not good could not stream anything on iPad and maps took forever to upload. Staff are all really friendly and helpful. First night there was a couple arguing and I was again woken up in the early hours to shouting, not ideal and I was considering checking out but thankfully the next night was quiet. Breakfast was included in my booking but I had to prove this before being told they would provide it. Basic breakfast but better than nothing. I had a nice time in the city but I would not return to this hotel because of some of the other guests, WiFi and a restless nights sleep.
