Absolutely shocking! Turned up the place looked shut down and abounded all smashed windows and graffiti all over walls. Knocked on door to see if I got the wrong address and they said my room was cancelled because toilet was broken! Well I wouldn’t of stayed there but the fact they didn’t contact me before hand to say the room was cancelled is bad, AVOID!!! Definitely be a ‘I’m a Celebrity trial’ if you stayed there!!!! Wish I took pictures but I will next time in Liverpool!

We had tickets for Liverpool’s match against Napoli and wanted somewhere within walking distance of the ground. My wife found this place and some of the reviews that I read after having arrived begged belief. From the outside the place looks dirty and very uninviting. Inside is slightly better . The reception is an office under the stairs. Our room was on the first floor at the front of the building. The noise from the traffic was awful and did not die down until well after midnight. The TV did not work and the toilet cistern was constantly dripping which even with the bathroom door closed you could hear. The shower had no where to put shampoo etc and up to 1am there were all sorts of noises that just seemed to be as if our front door was wide open. When I read some of the other reviews that were in praise of this establishment I wondered if they were talking about the same place. The only review that hit the spot was the one that described it as a hostel for the homeless Finally I was not able to pass on any of the above to anyone as when we left there was no one on reception.

For the price you pay, this is a great little hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious. You get free wifi and tea and coffee. The room i had was an ensuite with a really good shower. I found my stay to be perfect and I paid less than £50 a night, bonus!

Not great, there’s no parking on site as it’s down a side road which does not appear to be safe, bedrooms are not the cleanest and need paint on the walls and the skirting boards are covered in dust!!!

I booked a room for the 26th of December 2018 until the 1 of January 2019. Two weeks before we fly to Liverpool i noticed that i chose as a check in time from 15:00-23:00 but our plane was landing in Liverpool at 23:35. So i clicked somewhere that said change your booking and i tried to change the time of check in but i couldn't because i couldn't choose after 23:00. I sent an email request to the hotel asking them to check in after 23:00. I never received a confirmation email back so i had to call them. When i called them the guy on the phone told me that if im landing at 23:35 that means that i will arrive at the hotel at about 00:30 and that the reception closes at 23:00, and someone would be waiting for us and that i was gonna get charged a late check in fee of 10 GBP. I agreed with everything. On the 26th of December we arrived at the hotel and my friend started ringing the bell, but no one was answering. I then checked my phone and saw that it was 00:40. after 1 minute someone finally opened the door and said: you are late. I was shocked but because it was cold i started walking inside. Then he told us: - because you were late i gave the room to someone else but there is another room available on the 3rd floor but tomorrow i can give you another room a bigger one with a microwave and a Fridge. We said Ok and he gave us our key and we went upstairs. The room was a double room but i thought i booked a twin room. The next morning i went downstairs and i asked him if i could pay the 10 pounds i owed them for the late check in and he told me that when the manager comes i can pay. So at that point i asked him if we could change room and go to a room with two beds but if not that's ok. he told me that there was one room available but it wasn't ready yet. i told him that we had to leave for Leicester and i couldn't wait and we both agreed to make the arrangements another time. So i went to Leicester to visit my grandma and while we were returning back at around 22:25 i received a phone call from the hotel receptionist asking me where am i and when am i going to go back because he needed our key. We told him that we were going to be there in about 20-30 minutes and he said ok i can wait. Unfortunately though it took us a bit longer because we lost the road at one point. When we arrived at the hotel the guy on the reception came out of the ''office'' and said while pointing on the clock : my friends you are late. We were both shocked because he was acting as if he was our mother or something.. We explained to him what happened and he kept saying: You told me 20-30 minutes and its been nearly 50 minutes and i lost the train and a taxi and i was waiting for you. I started to get angry with him at that point and i asked him what was the problem and he told me that we had to give him back our room key. He then pointed at a small mailbox near the exit door and said you could leave your key there and then my friend told him: we didn't know that and then he said: My friend its common sense. I asked him why he needed our key and he said for the new room we asked. He then told us that in the new room we were going to we could only stay for 2 nights and then MOVE to another room. I was trying to explain to him that the other receptionist didn't tell me that specific detail that we could stay there for only two nights but he wouldn't listen. He kept telling me that i booked a double room and demanded a twin room and i denied that because i clearly told the other receptionist that if they cant that was ok. After 2 minutes of talking he asked us if we wanted to stay in that room for the rest of our stay or move to the other room for only 2 nights. We told him that we preferred to stay in the room we got first. When we went upstairs and unlocked the door we noticed that our things were missing. That was the last straw for us. We went downstairs and started complaining about everything and he kept defending ( of course) himself and the other employees by saying that because they needed our old room they had to move our things. i still cant believe that he thought that what the staff did was normal We kept telling him that it was unacceptable to do that but he kept saying that they HAD to do that. So at the end we stayed in the twin room for ONE night and the moved to ANOTHER room for the rest of our stay. 1) they never cleaned our room. 2) the floor was sticky 3) Bad odor in the hotel and the rooms. 4) No parking available On the last day when we were supposed to check out no one was on the reception so i just left the key in the mailbox and left. Im never going back. P.S: The reason i always choose hotels to book instead of apartments or hostels is because i like having the chance for breakfast or room service but this hotel after a thousand of hotels i booked is the first one with no 24H reception.. Which is unacceptable .
