Caro Lettings have withheld the deposit from an ACORN member who moved out after the company did not resolve numerous issues with the property including a leak from the ceiling and a faulty gas hob. The tenant and ACORN have been in touch with the company and have so far had no resolution. I would seriously advise against renting from this company.

Our member found it very difficult to report and resolve disrepair issues - in ACORN’s opinion, this just isn’t on. Students in Liverpool deserve better! They have also still failed to return one of their tenants deposits after they’ve requested it for 3 months - there are serious questions to be asked about their communication with their tenants!

Stayed here with my son for a few days to explore Liverpool during his half term break. We had a great stay - the rooms offer everything you need for a basic stay and my son loved the character of the building. Staff were friendly and helpful, from the booking process to checking out. I think the price was brilliant given the location and the history of the building. It was perfect for our stay and we would definitely stay again!

Recently visited here as was invited to celebrate my partners birthday with her family, there isn't much to the room, bed sheets had dirt patches on them, top of wardrobe was plastered in dust, bathroom radiator was also covered in dust. There were flys in the room i woke up to use the loo to find a fly hovering around the bowl. Also there is currently work going on so be prepared to be woken up very early in the morning to the sound of worker knocking and banging away. Oh and you'll require extra pillows as the pankcakes supplied arnt very comfortbale.

This is basic accommodation but very clean. The shower was quite small & if either of us were larger it would have been a bit of a squeeze. Tea & coffee were in the room & for the price I did not expect it.

This place is really unique with all its history and maybe a few ghosts, all of which is easy found with a quick Google. It's down a side street so that coupled with the thick walls make it quiet for the centre. It's also close to some good ale/craft pubs. It was clean and staff were fine. If I had to say a negative I'd say if you are sensitive to hot and cold you may be a bit uncomfortable as we found we were either a bit too warm with the heating on or too cold without it. I assume this is part time of the year, part the old building. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Liverpool.

We arrived here and the concept is really good. Converted prison. Reception is not 24 hr. We found our room (not easily). We weren't in the room long - but there was a constant clink of doors. The wooden floors don't hide this. The same wooden floors give it a cold feel - though the draught from the window also didn't help. The bedroom was 'snug'. Felt like basic student accommodation. The shower wasn't easy to work and with the fixed head, it was difficult to let it get warm. I would say that the best part of this hotel is the Atrium, which has been converted into a common area. It is really beautiful. It felt really secure too - there are two locked doors to get into the hotel. It is in a really good place for a visit to Liverpool. However, for £108 per night - I can’t see the total value for money. Plus there is a £50 deposit. The mattress on the bed was amazing. However, I was the shortest one of four of us and the other three struggled with the length with nowhere to put their feet. The other downside was the person who thought it was a good idea to play and sing along to acoustic guitar music at 4 am. This did not please! We are going to Liverpool again in the Summer and most definitely will not be staying there.

When we come to liverpool we want somewhere cheap and comfortable for the night. This is perfect. We first stopped a couple of years ago loved the novelty of stopping in cells and for 40 quid you can't go wrong. So when we planned another trip, we knew exactly where to stop.Everything was clean and tidy and had all your basic needs. It's walking distance to Matthew street, bars and shops. And the fact you get your parking voucher is a big bonus. Looking forward to stopping again soon.
