First ever 1 star hotel review. Booked through booking.com and a check-in time of 5-6pm was confirmed. Received a text the next day asking me to bring proof of ID to prove guests are over 30 years old. This is surely age discrimination and was not mentioned on the booking.com post. I am 27 years old. I was also told that I must check in before 4pm, and pay a £100 deposit per person. Again this contradicted my booking that the owner had already confirmed. The booking.com post even states a check in time of 14:00 - 00:00 and no age restriction for check-in. I complained to booking.com; they called the owner who would not yield. The stay was fully refunded, and booking.com apologised for this breach of policy and for being treated differently due to age. It was a huge inconvenience for us to change hotels on the day of travel and the reason the owner gave as being "we've had trouble with young people" is just not on. Are you going to include special conditions for other people based on their demographics too?

Stayed here at the weekend as a single traveller attending an event in Liverpool. Its one of those un-staffed locations and so check in is done remotely. The room I was allocated (7) was clean, warm and had all the basics. The venue itself if a short 10 min walk from Liverpool South station. There is a decent pub over the road called The Dealers Arms (has sky sports) and cash machines etc not far away... my sleep was fine, and overall this venue is good VFM... a late night taxi from the City cost me £18...as for breakfast, I would skip the booking com offer of £12 and go to the café below - superb cooked breakfast for £6.50....

I visited here with my partner for a business course I was attending. The room was basic and small but very clean and the shower was lovely and surprisingly very big. £8 uber journey away from the city centre, the downstairs cafe is great the lovely lady that served us was brilliant. So kind and sweet, the food was good and served to us very quickly. Very basic for £80 p/n - but a city centre room so price is to be expected

The Cargo Cafe Apartments are approximately 20 mins bus ride out of Liverpool, in a suburb called Garston. (Take the 82 bus from Liverpool One - stay on for approx 20 mins until you see Asda, as soon as you see Asda ring Bus Bell and the bus will stop outside Cargo Cafe Apartments. The room is adequate, not total luxury but certainly good enough, the bed was amazingly comfortable. My only criticism woulbe be that there was no Artwork on the walls in our bedroom. The Cargo Cafe underneath served a lovely breakfast and the staff so friendly and helpful.

Last week we stayed in the cargo cafe apartments. And we have to say that the ladies at the reception were truly kind, the room was tidy and the bathroom was lovely. The only downside turned up at night, because first of all the double beds are really small (US queen size bed for 2 instead of 1). Secondly the neighbors wanted to try out their bed for other reasons than sleeping, this came with certain noises which were clearly audible in our room (even when wearing earplugs).

Really lovely place. Excellent rooms with big comfy bed and newly refurbished en suite, complete with power shower. Gorgeous cafe underneath - food looked delicious - was sorry I ate so late last night so wasn't hungry. Would recommend this place to anyone coming to Liverpool to visit the city centre or use the airport £2.30 for a pleasant 20 minute bus ride into the city centre - stops outside the Dealer's Arms pub just over the road or directly outside the cafe to go to the airport. Thank you and look forward to booking our next stay!

I stayed at Cargo Cafe Apartments for a weekend in Liverpool. Before leaving, I knew I wouldn’t be arriving to Liverpool until late, so contacted Cargo Cafe to ensure I would be able to check in at 1am in the morning. The staff were very helpful, reassuring me that there would be a code and a key left for me when I arrived. They also arranged a double bed for me before my stay, which was nice of them to ask. I had already booked a double room, but it was great that they checked. The room we stayed in was clean, warm and spacious. It was nice to have free range of the kitchens, and the hotel was very quiet, too. It’s on a street that isn’t too far from Liverpool docks, which is where I needed to be. There is also free parking on the street. I’d recommend this place if staying in Liverpool!

A short bus ride (£2:20) out of town, clean and great breakfast, free parking nearby. Facilities were great, kitchen, tea and coffee, we would stay again. Cheap and cheerful and the room was great as a base and the bed was comfortable.

Firstly on a positive note our room was clean, laundry was fresh, en suite shower etc was great with nice white towels. Shared kitchen and seating area downstairs and free wi-fi, easy access to city or airport at reasonable cost. The cost of the room was also cheap. Unfortunately the location really lets this place down for several reasons. We were in room 6 which overlooked the road which is extremely busy and a container loading dock which was operational all night, so noise was pretty much constant. Added to that, there was extremely hot weather which meant the window had to be open because there was no fan. We had virtually no sleep for our two night stay as the room was unbearably hot and incredibly noisy. As others have said, Garston is not a great area, it looks terribly run down with all shops shuttered including, on our arrival, the hotel. There was nowhere to go and eat in the evening except a couple of dodgy looking pubs, which felt quite intimidating. The hotel was self check in and out and we didn't see another person for our entire stay. In trying to be fair, if we had had a room at the back and the weather had been different our experience may have been more positive.

We arrived late at night with the details to check ourselves in and get our keys to the apartment. Arriving into the area it looks a little rundown but it was quiet and had parking on the street out the front of the apartments. The apartment was spotlessly clean, very modern and comfortable, we only stayed for 1 night but had a good stay for a good price.
