It's a travelodge, it wasn't a penthouse suite! But me and my family stayed, the beds were fine, the room was great, staff were really helpful and friendly. At the price range we were at, it was awesome

I am a Single Dad with 2 Sons, 11 and 12. We often use Travelodge chain for short breaks up and down the country during school holidays. Having never been to this particular Travelodge before we were pleasantly surprised and impressed with the standard of cleanliness! Often we would leave the Room a little late in the morning but the...

The hotel is well located, very quiet. Just near the underground station. Some restaurants around the hotel. Good breakfast. And the price very good. 250£ for 3 nights with 2 kids. We enjoyed our stay.

It was located quite central for our needs. The staff were pleasant and amenable. However breakfast can be an experience due to you having to queue to be seated and the breakfast room is quite cramped.

Stay in London on a weekly basis for business and have no choice of venue. This hotel is on the cheap end of the market but is clean and well located. Really only have 3 requirements when I stay over - comfortable, clean and a good shower! This hotel meets the first two and the shower isn't bad. However, last...

I am a frequent stayer here, not by choice, and I'm staggered as to how cold the bedrooms are. Yes, they all have 'aircon' units that may be great in summer, but are totally ineffective and too noisy to leave on all night. Despite requests (to very polite staff I must add) on every visit, an additional electric heater can...

A perfect location to stay for visiting the Tate Britain and surrounding area. The rooms were clean and basic. We wished the windows would open. There were enough bath towels and the staff were helpful.

Hotel is in good location within walking distance of Southwark underground. There is a convenience store one side of to the ground floor entrance, a Pizza restaurant on the other and “The Lord Nelson” pub opposite. [also reviewed] Vending machines stand in the entrance lobby and lifts take you up to first floor reception. The Receptionist was friendly, brisk and...

Keep in mind london is very expensive. Most of the hotels in the same area much more expensive that Travelodge. For price you pay, this is a very well located hotel in thr city center. It is located just a few meters from Southwark station. The rooms are big enough for 3 people, even when you can get up to...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
