We stayed in the Draycotts of Chelsea premium one bedroom apartment and it was the best accommodation experience we have had in London. The location just could not be better. By far and away the best attribute is the fantastic location - so close to all the good restaurants and nightspots, great shopping and all the sights, which for us...

My husband and I stayed for 10 days in the one bedroom apartment on the first floor. We were aware of the problems other travellers had encountered and were a little concerned. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon after we had rung the number we had been given to advise that we were on our way. When we arrived we were...

We had two stays at Draycotts of Chelsea in July 2011, the first for three nights in room 7 and the second for four nights in room 6. We booked our stay over a year ago when the reviews put this property as one of the best values in London. Shortly before we left we checked the reviews again and...

I stayed with my wife and two children for three nights. What I liked: our apartment looked in reality like on the website, good quality interior, bright during the day, the street it faces is not too busy (but of course you are in the city and not on the country side, so don't expect absolute silence). We had plenty...

I checked out reviews before our trip and was prepared for a different kind of service to a hotel. We were met by a pleasant girl who spoke minimal english, she gave us keys and a card to fill in and this was the only member of staff we encountered in person. Our family room was down very steep stairs,...

No lift, so make sure you're fit and able as its a long way up the stairs with suitcases (and no assistance). Having a great location and nice decor is a waste of time if the other things you booked for don't work. Free wireless internet for instance only worked on rare occasions (sometimes it worked if you went out...

i booked a weekend at this place for me and my friends as a treat last week. This booking was made via expedia. I received the confirmation of the booking immediately and was dead excited. However two days ago i called the hotel to enquire on car parking availability when i discovered that they have no record of my booking!...

Draycotts of Chelsea is an apartment hotel, which I first came across via Hotels.com. However, in the end I booked it through their own website, as you can book a specific room there, and also view pictures of that particular room that you book. This is something I've never experienced before. Most hotels shoot some of their nicest rooms which...

We booked the delux duplex - which was perfect for us. We were travelling with a 3 and a 5 yr old. So the pull out couch was fine for them. The kitchenette was fantastic, as it meant we could get the kids food as needed. The decor is modern and has all the little bits and pieces you need....

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.

“The family suite in the basement would be lovely in summer, open the patio doors and have a drink outside, only a tiny patio but how much space do you need for a glass of wine!”

“Having lived in London for 8 years I know that lower ground flats always have a bit of damp, so if you want to avoid that, just book a room that is on the ground floor or higher. Obviously a ground floor will have more noise from the street as anyone can imagine, but on the other side you wont have to walk up the stairs”
