Imagine a re-designed floating platform, pure industrial design, unique waterfront at the Royal Docks, living room and rooftop terrace - all with a view every Londoner would love to wake up with. On the water and around the corner from the Cable Cars and London City Airport (LCY) with direct travel links to Central London by DLR, Underground and Elizabeth Line. The Excel and City Hall are neighbours and the O2 arena in North Greenwich is just a 7-minute cable car ride away. The design is a pure industrial style - combining Dutch design classics with cherry-picked items and custom-made pieces. The Living Room is where good food and drinks are served. Open all day, every day. It's a place where you kick off your shoes, put your feet up, enjoy an espresso, meet with friends, or get some work done. The rooftop is an oasis of open space, boasting a terrace and bar overlooking London, Canary Wharf and the River Thames. The rooms range from a cosy 13 sqm to a spacious 30 sqm. Amenities include en-suite bathrooms with shower, in-room safe, coffee/tea, workspace and free WiFi. River views come by default in the Good Room with water view and Best Room. Free WiFi, a 24-hour front desk, concierge services and free iPads for guests' use. Good Hotel London boasts an eclectic and trendy atmosphere that many guests find pleasant and cozy. The staff is frequently commended for their outstanding service, going the extra mile to ensure a comfortable stay. While praised for its cleanliness and prime location near public transport and local attractions like the O2, some guests feel the rooms are on the smaller side and lack essential amenities.
The hotel's value proposition has been questioned due to high prices for the offered room sizes and amenities. Additionally, noise levels are a common concern among travelers, despite efforts to mitigate the disturbance.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed here overnight as a birthday celebration. Really cool bus turned bar outside. The decor inside is really laid back, clean and tidy. It has such a swish feel that is hard to get in a hotel at this price normally. The rooms are basic (in a good way) and optimise the limited space with edgy furniture and architecture. The bed was so comfortable with good quality pillows etc. I was surprised just how clean and effortless the hotel was. The service at the front desk and during breakfast was super laid back and friendly. The breakfast the following morning (until 12pm!) was a buffet style with so many healthy and interesting options. Cured meats, cheeses, olive bread, focaccia, homemade health smoothies, cooked breakfast, incredible fresh fruit and yoghurt etc. I really mean it when I say how awesome and good value for money it is! There is also a rooftop bar which we didn’t check out as had read online about it being closed in the winter. We have both agreed that we will be coming back in the warmer months to make the most of this.
Great ambience, effortless style and quality! Loved it!

This is the first time we have stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, there were a couple of things that could have improved our stay.
1. We had upgraded to buffet breakfast weeks before our stay and were informed at book in that this service was not currently provided and we would receive a refund. It would have improved service if you had contacted guests before their stay so alternative could have been considered and arranged. A notice in the room advised the buffet was not provided due to covid restrictions, but current restrictions do not prevent buffet meals being served. I realise it is down to the discretion of the restaurant to continue serving but it was so disappointing not to have that after we booked and paid for it and were looking forward to it.
2. A couple of niggly things in the room. Firstly, we are not sure the thermostat was working correctly as the room was very warm on our arrival so we turned it down using the thermostat on the wall but temperature wouldn't go down. The towel hooks on the wall in the bathroom were just above the toilet brush so to reuse the towel and hang it on the peg meant it dangled into a toilet brush. The bathroom is small but might have been better locating the brush on the other side of the toilet. Also the tea was not up to scratch, it had a perfumy after taste and was nit very enjoyable at all. However, my partner enjoyed the coffee.
Now, overall we really enjoyed staying here and would definitely go again. We would really like to try the breakfast next we go so hopefully it is being served next time. The Hotel is beautiful and very quirky, love the ship cabin style rooms and the decor is very inviting. The hotel was very clean and well presented everywhere we went. The water view room was lovely as we watched the ducks and swans swim by often and the view of the dock was refreshing. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, they were more than happy to help us plan our breakfast for the following morning with a few suggestions of local eateries and reminded us of the take away breakfast available. They definitely enhance the stay by being friendly and approachable at all times. We both agree this is a great hotel in a great location and loved that we could just jump on the cable car next door and spend the evening at the O2. Also travelling there for us was very easy by train as the Royal Victoria DLR is right across the road.

Hi SarahH125RC, Thank you for sharing your review, and sharing your positives and negatives with us. Firstly we are delighted that you found the hotel quirky and enjoyable , and you liked the the cabin style rooms and the view over the water. We are also delighted that you found the hotel well presented and that the team looked after you so well. Your feedback regarding breakfast and our tea, while not so pleasing to hear, is incredibly valuable. We are bringing the breakfast packages on our website as soon as possible. The air conditioning is set to 21c and can be easily adjusted from the room. We do hope that you will return to stay with us again very soon. Good Hotel London Team! #SleepGoodDoGood

Liked · Location for the World Travel Market conference in Excel was great - only a 5 minute walk. Easy access to DLR at Royal Victoria and a few restaurants and shops, mini markets for essentials close by. Right on the river and next to the Emirates Cable Car, Seabourn Yacht Hotel and footbridge over the river. Close to London City Airport. Reception staff helpful and engaging on arrival and throughout stay.
Disliked · Rooms are "cabins" however really small. No TVS in rooms, bathrooms very small and only shower gel as toiletries. Aircraft noise and also hum of the cable car. Cabins very cold as on river, however requested extra blankets and pillows for second night. Prides itself on ethical credentials and charity donations not for profit, however poorly finished and needs some money spending as getting tatty. At £150 per night just needs a bit more of a polish and public areas need spruced up. Bar staff only chatting amongst themselves and not really engaged with clients.

Hi ChrisO664, Thank you for sharing your review. We are pleased that you choose to stay with us during the WTM at Excel. It is a shame that on this occasion we have not wowed you. Our rooms are compact, but if you need the extra space, we have our XL Rooms which are approximately 30 square meters and we’re sure you will love it. We do hope that you will return soon to see for yourself. Good Hotel London team! #SleepGoodDoGood

I stayed here for a night with my autistic daughter and right from the start all the staff here made my daughter feel welcome and special which meant the world to me.
The location of this hotel is perfect being by the river and right by the cable car, it meant you are guaranteed amazing views from your room, we were able to see the O2 Arena from our window.
The breakfast was covid safe with it delivered to our door at a time we requested in advance and was plentiful for the start of an action packed day in London.
We paid extra for the welcome amenities, breakfast and cable car pass and they well worth the added expense.

We booked this hotel through booking.com for my husbands birthday. We paid for breakfast when we booked the room. We were not told before hand that breakfast was a light and cold breakfast. Also that there was a £15 prepayment to secure the room , baring in mind the hotel requested before hand that we had to fill out a form where I had to put in my card information for security reasons. (We we’re only told about this hidden fee once we arrived there) .
In the morning I went to collect breakfast only to see it was all laid out in bags like a “free for all”
Everyone was taking bags and no one was asked “if they had paid for breakfast”.
Poor Benito (who provided excellent customer service) was on his own trying to control everything . Why wasn’t there more staff to help him? He clearly could not be everywhere at once.
I hope to get a refund for breakfast at the very least since everyone was able to take it without there being any checks as to who paid for breakfast or not.
The room looked and felt very morbid and we could hear noise from other rooms. Especially those from the floor above, stamping, slamming doors and walking on the floor. We could hear it all.
We have been to many hotels especially those in that location and had never experienced anything like this.
We will not be staying there again.
But want to commend Benito who tried his best to accommodate us and hear our concerns, the hotel should be grateful for this staff member. If it was not for him, the review would be worse.

Booked a waterside room. It was clean but fairly basic. Our bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately no extra pillows were available as they told us they were fully booked. The staff were friendly and polite. I thought the buffet breakfast was pretty good: choice of fruit juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, various breads, meats and cheeses as well as a few hot options. The staff were quick to replenish the food as well as the cutlery and crockery. The interior was painted a dark grey which made it a bit dark and sombre. I’m no interior designer but think a lighter colour would have been better.

As per title. Excellent and helpful service (the strongest point), use the ear plugs supplied and check the cleanliness of the bathroom. Don't be surprised that you won't have a TV in a room but plenty around the bar and Reception area. Breakfast variety of food is sufficient, although its quality could be better.

The room was very basic and very small, but what we expected for the price in London.
The location was brilliant. Right next to the emirates cable cars, which was a fun tourist attraction and made for a lovely view.
It was also right on the water, which also made for a lovely view. And it was an extremely short distance from the DLR train lines, which was a huge plus.
The lobby was lovely, which featured stylish seating areas where guests could relax and order food/ read books/ work on your laptop. You could also take up jugs of water and fruit to your room.
Unfortunately, this is where the positives stopped.
I was contacted by the hotel via email numerous times before our stay, to ask if we wanted to upgrade or wanted any extras. I asked for a hairdryer, which was free of charge. However, the hairdryer was not in the room or passed to me when we checked in. And when my partner went down to ask for a hairdryer, we received one with someone’s old false eyelashes stuck to it!!!! YUK!!!!
There were only 2 plug sockets available for Uk plugs, and the 2 other plugs were for European adapters. You could ask for European adapters at reception, but even then the plug sockets were placed in really inconvenient places.
2 plugs were at the head of the bed- fine for charging your phone- but the plugs were one uk and one European plug, so my partner and I could not charge our phones at the same time.
The other 2 plugs for the entire room were by the desk. Again, one plug for uk and one plug for European outlet.
The placement of the plug by the desk, meant that you had to boil the kettle on the floor, as the cable could not reach the height of the desk.
The same plug socket also had to be used for the hair dryer, but this was on the opposite wall to the mirror, which was a struggle.
The air con also worked on the first night, but did not work after that, meaning the room was really hot.
The bathroom also left little to the imagination, with a thin glass door that didn’t even reach the floor. So make sure if you’re sharing a room that you know your fellow roommate extremely well, as if you don’t- you will by the time you leave!
In the bathroom, the toilet was also a struggle to flush. It didn’t seem to work very well at all.
And the walls were paper thin. Possibly why you are provided with ear plugs in the bathroom? As we could hear everything the people in the room next to us were saying. We even heard them sipping up their suitcase.
And when I folded the bed sheet back to get into bed, there was a long black hair in the bed! Defiantly not ours, as my partner and I both have short fair hair.
So I would say it was a convenient and cheap place to stay, but not so cheerful.

Although Spotless and value for money a couple of things were not to our liking, for example, no TV in room or in the lounge area, I would have been just as happy to have a coffee and watch the news there while my hubby slept. I did not like the bathroom with small glass door as it did not offer much privacy when in use but overall the hotel itself it is in a lovely environment and the staff friendly and helpful. The one thing I did enjoy seeing was the packed breakfast with bamboo cutlery, not plastic, and bottles of orange juice and jam in small jars instead of little plastic containers both of which I brought home to reuse.

Wife booked hotel thru wowcher and got a reasonably priced deal which included breakfast. Arrived at hotel at 2pm so went to bar for a drink as check in not till 3pm. At the bar ordered a £10 cocktail and a £4.50 bottle of Toast American IPA beer, got charged £16.31?? (Let that one go).
Tried to check in at 3pm and were advised that the room wasn't ready, decided to leave our bag and go out for something to eat and drink at the O2. Returned to hotel at 7pm to check in, room was ready , then advised that our package included a 'light' breakfast and would have to pay £10 per person for full breakfast. Also then had to pay a £15 security deposit?? Very random figure, I understand that hotels can take a small amount to authorise you card as a security deposit but £15 seems a very strange figure to deduct?
Headed up to our room on the first floor, room 121. Rooms are tiny!!. The hotel has massive lobby areas on each floor but very small rooms, you get the impression you are in a storage facility rather than a hotel. After being out all day was looking forward to a relaxing night in hotel room, very disappointed to find no TV in room (first room I have ever stayed in without a TV),
At this point me and my wife decided that we didn't really want to stay here so headed back down to reception and advised that we were not gonna stay the night and head home instead.
On the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful and understanding when we explained why we have decided not to stay.
My wife booked this trip thru wowcher for my 50th birthday and although she got a good price for the room for the night I have checked the prices direct with the hotel and to be honest I think the rooms are overpriced for what you get and would recommend the Premiere Inn just down the road a bit for better value for money and a decent sized room.
Will now contact Wowcher to see if they may possibly refund our booking but am not that hopeful. I don't normally write bad reviews as tend to stay in a lot of budget hotels but for some reason really feel this hotel was a big disappointment 😞

Cable car outside the hotel. But if it's busy or you are in a hurry, it's quicker to use the underground
yes there are towels
I’m sorry I can’t remember
Hi Lynn , it’s about 1/2 hour walk not a particularly interesting walk. Reception can book taxi if you prefer.
The o2!! Pop over the river on the cablecar for a great experience and for loads of food and drink options
