Absolutely wonderful stay and meal. Stayed on the simply Sunday package, beyond any expectations we might have had. Lovely bottle of Champagne in the room upon arrival. We were in a Superior King Room ( No 112 ) which was wonderful apart from it overlooked Piccadilly and we were woken several times by emergency service’s sirens and loud motorbikes going past throughout the night. Maybe when booking ask for a room either not facing Piccadilly or perhaps a higher floor. The meal in the Ritz Restaurant was incredible and accompanied by a excellent bottle of wine. Will live long in the memory. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
The welcome is warm and friendly. The service at the table is excellent. So professional and again friendly. The food delicious My only criticism would be that my Yorkshire pudding much better than theirs! The way cheese is served is wonderful and suggestion of port with the cheese great. They are not” up themselves” which other restaurants and their staff can be.
Ritz, London: Wonderful and elegant! The hotel certainly succeeded in giving its guests the experience of luxury that they truly deserve. Afternoon Tea with champagne: Superb especially with the Christmas choir singing while having the afternoon tea. It certainly provided a jolly Christmas atmosphere. Service: Excellent and very well trained staff! Location: Picadilly line/Green Park underground Overall: Highly recommended and worth experiencing!
unfortunately we had a rather poor experience at the Ritz ,arrived before 3.00pm and asked if we could have the rom earlier as requested on my booking , was told NO!, to take a seat in the bar and they would call me, while waiting we noticed how cold the hotel was , the bar, corridors , only to e told that they know and are "working on it"! We waited in the cold bar for 1.5 hrs and eventually room was ready , room was small and unimpressive, could hear everything in next door room, toilet handle did not work properly, fingerprints on the glasses. Following morning went for breakfast, again freezing cold room, guests were wearing coats at breakfast!, served warm food and stale croissant's , with very little interest from the waiters. We checked out as early as we could as it was uncomfortable to be in the hotel and we told the reception of our bad experience and response was "yes we know"! i made a written complaint and explained the bad experience and expected some form of refund or compensation , only to be told, my complaint has been logged and closed. Overall extremely poor from hotel to management and would not recommend. i will now be informing trading standards as this is not what you expect from their description…
First time for us at the Ritz and hugely impressed. There’s no faulting the glamorous and stylish decor of this iconic hotel, but it’s the staff that fill the hotel with what can only be described as “huge personality”, something I have not come across in some of the other London stalwarts, where staff are faultless but faceless. From the moment you arrive - the doormen greet you with a genuine sense of pride “Welcome to the Ritz!”. From Reception to housekeeping- they are all just so damn enthusiastic- and it’s definitely contagious. We were lucky enough to stay in a beautiful suite, and after check- in, we headed down to have lunch in the Rivoli Bar. A cosy, stylish room, where we feasted on oysters and champagne. The waiters were wonderful. Dapper uniforms and attentiveness were the order of the day. The atmosphere was great and I didn’t want to leave, but we had a dinner reservation and had to move on. As we were only there for one night, we had decided to eat in the hotel- and I’m so glad we did. The food was sublime - a 7 course taster menu - and the entertainment brilliant. Singers and dancers in Swing style continuing the glamorous theme. Special mention to Annie, Jonathan in the bar, and Kevin who served us in the restaurant. Also Rita, who constantly checked on us and made us feel extremely valued. A very special mention to Brian, class from the tip of his perfect head to his shiny shoes. Brian, who provided me with a much needed coffee-to-go after our excellent night. Now that’s what I call service.…
The Ritz Restaurant should be on every lover of fine dinings bucket list , we choose the 3 course lunch menu £80 per head , to begin we had amuse bouche consisting of 2 spheres each 1 goats cheese mousse and 1 parfait, our starters were a beef tartar and salmon cooked to perfection with a superb butter sauce , our main courses were lamb cutlets (a little too much soft fat for my liking ) and a beautiful halibut with a split dill cream sauce , we chose a selection of cheeses ( great selection) £16 supplement and a fabulous Cherry and Kirch dessert , a glass of red wine £18, a bottle of Fleurie and a total bill of £312 . The service , food and ornate decor and ambiance are worth a visit 👍👨🏻🍳
The high tea at The Ritz in London was an unforgettable experience. The ambience and decor of the room where we had the high tea was just beautiful. The food was amazing and absolutely delicious. The service was impeccable. The whole experience was luxurious and I can highly recommend.
This hotel has seriously gone downhill over the years. Room standards have dropped with poor mattresses and shabby interior. It is the special touches that are missing. Upkeep seems to have been non-existent. The bathroom was standard with nothing much to write about. We barely slept due to springs being felt in the old beds. Ridiculous as you expect a good nights sleep in a high end hotel. Service at the hotel is faultless as always. However, when paying circa £1k a night, we expect a high standard room with quality beds/bedding etc! Afternoon tea has suffered with poor ingredients and dry scones/cakes. Breakfast has suffered with poor ingredients and lesser options. With the hospitality industry suffering in the current economic climate, The Ritz will simply lose out longer term. A pity to see a proper English establishment deteriorate so much. A standard response to this review is no doubt going to be given by the hotel management - no point really. UPDATE - I actually emailed the email address that the hotel response asked for. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! Zero response from the management and zero action. Therefore - if you want to sleep on an old mattress that you can feel springs at every sleep stage, if you want a room with poor worn out furnishings, if you want a hotel room with poor amenities and ridiculous dated interior, if you want to pay EXTORTIONATE prices for a poor experience all round - do it - book here. With so many quality options in London - look elsewhere. That way you won't be disappointed and have the management respond to your review with zero grace and no follow-up…
Wow ! On New year day, our daughter booked this for a Christmas gift. We arrived and put our coats in the cloakroom and headed to the ballroom where they were serving afternoon tea. The service was attentive and discreet. We were presented with an menu and chose our tea of choice and brought a glass of champagne which was just beautiful, these was refilled at regular intervals and the afternoon tea selections of sandwiches and cakes were brought to our table. Warm scones and mince pies then arrived. Live pianist played and the singers which accompanied was just wonderful. This was a lovely touch and just how it should be in a top hotel. When we finished our afternoon tea we headed to the Ritz bar for cocktails and they were beautiful. The interior decor and Christmas decorations were just gorgeous. Would I go back, definitely yes and would love to book the restaurant now for a special meal.…
An amazing experience. Staff first class. Food unbelievable every part of the meal was incredible. Just exceptional dining. The hotel as expected is beautiful. Expensive but well worth it. Atmosphere was incredible. I would highly recommend a visit
