My family of four enjoyed our stay at your hotel in August 2015. The rooms were large and well equipped. The staff was attentive and even allowed us an earlier check in. The restaurant also had an American fare for breakfast, which my children enjoyed. The location was in the middle of everything. We walked to most things on our...

We stayed at the Athenaeum for a weekend in London, and i chose this hotel blind, as i booked it through last minute.com's top secret hotels. I knew it was near Green Park and that was it - we were not disappointed. We chose this location as it was near to Mayfair and a particular restaurant that i had booked....

while staying in London for a few days we had pre-booked the shard for afternoon tea mostly for the views, but they had an incident in their kitchen & all afternoon tea was cancelled on Wednesday, so we decided to book here instead at the last minute and am so glad I did as this was the best afternoon tea...

The staff deserves special praise as they were effective and especially warm and friendly. This carried through to all the staff from the doorman, front desk, concierge, restaurant, and even the maintenance crew. We were unlucky to experience an electrical problem in our suite but it was handled well and with genuine concern. It could have easily detracted from our...

Loved it and will definitely be back! We visited with a lastminute.com deal as a weekend staycation and we will most definitely be back! The Athenaeum oozes five star luxury with top-level service and a sparkly finish! We were greeted so warmly by the doorman and Reception staff, when they asked what we were up to I informed them it...

We thoroughly enjoyed the Athenaeum. The location is outstanding, the staff is very cordial and helpful. Concierge Darren was most accommodating to several requests. Room was spacious, and nicely decorated. We definitely would return. Food was excellent, also.

We stayed in the apartments. The attention to detail for families is second to none. The family concierge is a great concept. Kites, a wii, books, DVDs and more to great the kids in the room. What a great start. Breakfast in the room was fantastic. You can tell this is not part of a chain, many individual touches like...

As before, we have nothing but praise for the Athenaeum from the Jim the doorman and his staff through to the cleaners. Everyone went out of their way to help make this another memorable London trip. And, the breakfasts are superb - even proper honeycomb available!

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
