Starting with the cons; The first thing to mention here is the air con, it makes an extremely loud clicking noise when it initiates which woke me up about 4 times over the night - there is a notice about this when you get to the hotel. The room is cold constantly, with no way to warm it up as... More

Thank you for your feedback from your recent stay with us. I am sorry you had issues with your AC noise - I can assure you we are dealing with this, with our building contractors! Having said that the AC still works correctly in all our rooms and heats and cools the rooms. Parking - yes it is £30 but... More

This is a great location right by old street tube station also Shoreditch overground is a couple on mins walk. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The guy on reception was lovely. This might seem like a tiny point but the thing lacking for me was breakfast. I was all ready to go down and get a... More

The hotel lobby and bar are immaculate but the rooms are a little tired and very small when you have a the pull out bed up and I had shower fittings that fell off when you tried to dispense soap. The noise was terrible as it was the start of half term and some parents thought it would be okay... More

Thank you for your feedback from your recent stay with us and I'm sorry for the noise from your fellow guests. We certainly don't encourage guests to play in the corridors and we regularly have these corridors patrolled to ensure that such activities are stopped! I will make sure your comments about the reception staff are passed on and addressed.... More

This hotel is located a little ways from the main attractions however the price is right & the Old Street subway station is nearby. The hotel looks a little shabby on the outside, but rooms are clean, updated and comfortable. Close to lots of bars and restaurants - which also bring street noise especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Breakfast... More

A really good family hotel in a good location. Easy access to the underground to visit all the sites of London. Would ask for a room at the rear of the hotel as the road outside is very busy. Rooms lovely and plenty to choose for breakfast. Reasonable price for London.

Nice hotel. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Many bus stops within a blocks walk. Breakfast is ok and usually no wait except for Sunday's. Ice machine in lobby. Staff is friendly but I saw someone request to use the hidden microwave for food and was ok. I asked them to pop some popcorn and the night manager refused and... More

We decided to spend 3 nights over a weekend in central London and chose this hotel because of price, £103 per night including full breakfast for two. Arriving at Liverpool street station we took a taxi to the hotel costing £6.50 because we did not know about the bus routes at this time. The reception staff were very helpful and... More

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for a business trip, this was the most reasonably priced hotel in a great location right next to Old Street tube. My room was a good size, clean with modern deco. The tube is a 5 minute walk away, or there is a bus across the street. The breakfast is ok - eggs, beans, bacon, cereal, cheese, yogurts, etc. I stayed here because I generally like the holiday inn express brand, and the price I found was good (for london anyway!). Rooms was clean, fairly quiet, small-ish but comfortable. There is... More

Staying in Shoreditch

Neighbourhood Profile
Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighbourhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbour can result in fascinating outcomes.
