Really good location for travelling to Wimbledon (the purpose of our trip). Reasonably quiet street and just a few minutes walk from restaurants/ tube station

I stayed here in June 2012 whilst looking for a new flat. It was literally the only available hotel in the area and so I chose it more out of neccessity than anything else...it turned out to be really clean, modern and perfect for what I needed. The room I had was on the ground floor which I was a...

I stayed at this hotel 3 times during May as I had to sit a few tests in London. The hotel is really clean and modern (which is hard to find in London for an affordable price), the staff was really nice and helpful at all times and for all matters. The room was quite tiny but could fit a...

Visited several years ago on my own, so I understood the base2stay philosphy. My husband and I had tickets for tennis on the 27th June, and the hotels location in Earls Court is simply minutes from the tube station, and the line for Southfields. Whilst close to Earls Court Road we were never aware of any noise. Plenty of latenight...

We stayed 3 nights in June 2012 and found the staff could not do enough to make our stay a pleasant one. The proximity to Earls Court tube station, and the nearby supermarket, restaurants and pubs, provided everything we needed for a great first-time visit to London. Would recommend this hotel to everyone. Although the room was smallish, it was...

I stayed at base2stay for two nights this past June. I had read a great review of the hotel in the New York Times and it seemed a perfect fit for us. We were only going to be in London for 2 1/2 days and needed a hotel that was close to transportation and fit within our budget. Only a...

We spent seven nights in May 2012 in a deluxe room. It was a basement room with a "patio". The patio was a small outside area at basement level shared with another room. We could see the sky and part of another building. Room was small. There was a microwave but no hotplate so cooking was a bit limited. The...

Management response:

Dear Nuages, Thank you for your feedback it is always appreciated and really helps us to improve our guest experience. I am sorry if you found the terrace rooms smaller than expected, they are among our most popular room types -especially at this time of year- as they offer that little bit of outdoor space that is so rare in...

I've visited and lived in London and can state easily that this is the best hotel I've ever stayed in. (I haven't tried the Savoy, but at 500Pounds per night more expensive, I likely won't be any time soon.) The location is perfect. One block from Earl's Court tube, it is an easy and short hop to get to any...

We stayed here for 3 nights in June 2012. I was really impressed with the size of the room. Based on other reviews, I expected it to be really tiny but ours was quite spacious. The bathroom was also very large, shower had great water pressure, and there was a towel warmer. The hotel was clean, friendly, and very nice....

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
