My friend and I selected this hotel as our base for a one night stay in London. The website depicts bright, clean, modern & comfortable rooms. We checked in (gave them our credit card to hold the funds for our stay) and were handed our key with little more than a mumble from the “welcome staff” at reception as to...

I was invited to afternoon tea at the Washington Hotel Mayfair which is a lovely hotel located in Curzon Street and one which has a lot of history attached to it. The selection of pastries on offer were a delight as were the warm scones with clotted cream and jam. Sheer indulgence in a great setting and a marvellous pot...

Ok, I'm picky with hotels, staying away two nights per week I get to try something new all the time, but the serviceberries was awful! Having booked months before I made the normal 'no feather pillows or duvets due to allergies' request only to have to ask reception if they had taken them out, and got a blank expression back.......

Checked in at 6pm, when I got to the room I was surprised to find the room as it was left by the previous guest, wet towels littered the floor and beds. It was not a good first impression. I was changed to another room. There the AC did not work and it was steaming hot. I called for it...

My husband and I visited this hotel to celebrate my 60th birthday. The room had been booked since January, so we were both looking forward to our stay there. On checking in at the hotel reception, we were advised that 2 rooms had been booked in our name, why that should be was no fault of ours but nevertheless we...

Nicely located hotel, ideal for a morning run in the park. Rooms are nice, pillons are a bit soft though. Good breakfast but missing good coffee. It is however a bit pricy. Staff is very kind and helpful. Nice and good size bathroom, shower has good water pressure.

The reception staff were very helpful giving us directions to get to the Chelsea flower show by bus or underground..checked in easily and were upgraded which was a nice surprise. Room was spotlessly clean with nice toiletries and towels and dressing gown..so met a high standard. Breakfast was excellent glad we paid to have it included as would be expensive...

My husband and I had booked a double room but was given a twin, was soon dealt with and with an upgrade so can't complain. This is a great place to stay if you want to be in the heart of town. The breakfast was ok but very over priced. We didn't eat in the restaurant as the menu wasn't...

Great location, rooms ok. Great bar staff, waitresses and especially concierge Emi. Was not impressed by check in service or staff who were unfriendly and unaware that we had booked 2 nights. Thought we had booked for one as the reservation was made through bookings.com The trainee (think it was Christina) referred to another lady and they then found the...

Dear deirdb Oh dear, you really have had a most untypical experience of the hotel and I am very sorry indeed that you were so disappointed with our check-in service and staff. Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
