Just back from spending four nights at the Phoenix. I chose it because of its great reviews on this site. I was not disappointed. The single room I was in was very comfortable with clean décor and a very smart en-suite. The room was refreshed every day to a very high standard. Loads of hot water in the morning which...

Great hotel! Whole hotel was spotlessly clean with lovely decor. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was lovely. Bathroom had a great fresh smell. Looked newly refurbished. Was nice and warm all night. Breakfast was continental with plenty of choice. Overall a really great place to stay :-)

This hotel is perfect, very clean everywhere, is a very good state of maintenance, pleasant rooms, tastefully decorated, friendly staff. Located near to two tube stations and Kensington Park, also just around the corner from shops, fast food, restaurants and department store. I will never stay anywhere else now I have found this little gem.

Loved this hotel for the location. Bayswater Station (Circle and District Line) just round the corner. Queensway station (Central Line) about 5 minutes walk. Also there are numerous bus stops near the hotel. You can walk to Kensington Palace in 15 min. Had a single room which was rather small but enough for 3 nights. Overall everything was clean. I...

We spent some nights at the Phoenix Hotel in November 2016 and were overall satisfied with the stay. The hotel is located in 3-5 minutes walking distance to Bayswater Underground Station, where the Circle Line takes you to famous sights like the Tower Bridge, the Royal Albert Hall and some museums and to bigger train stations like Victoria or King's...

I recently spent three nights at this hotel and had a lovely time! The location is wonderful - close to everything, but very quiet. The staff were all friendly and helpful. My room was ready for me before the check-in time. Breakfast was great! My single room was tiny, with a funny arrangement of an entry area, bathroom, and desk...

I am a regular visitor to London and stayed is many different hotels, this is by far the friendliest and most homely of them all. From the moment you arrive the staff smile and welcome you. The rooms are clean and well kept, the decor is spot on and breakfast is simple yet ample. I have now been visiting this...

Currently staying here as I'm writing this. Here on a business trip, attended the world travel market. Love the room. Simple and clean. Breakfast is good enough for us. Simple and healthy. However, the staff members need to be more polite with clients. You may see us as a pair of young asians but we are more than that. We...

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
