Great location! .... just a distance from the coach station if you're walking. Lovely free breakfast served between the hours of 7-9am, free wifi. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are VERY NICE and RELAXING, COMFORTABLE and CLEAN!

Many thanks indeed to this guest for taking the time to review their stay at Avni Kensington Hotel. It's a real pleasure for all of the team to know that the guests were so happy with their stay - both in respect of the room we provided and in respect of the location and its convenience for their time in...

First of all I notice that the Hotel only replies if you say something positive. They should reply also to constructive criticism. The Hotel is in a good location for getting around London. On arrival a quick check in,up to our room on the 4th floor, room 404, 12th December - 14th. Room was very hot with radiator on full blast,far...

To be fair the Avni is basic, a cheaper hotel and you get what you pay for. It was a comfortable bed, the room was warm a little on the small side but ok. The staff were always helpful and greeted you with a smile. The only negative compared to other hotels was that the breakfast was very basic, but...

We had stayed here 12 moths ago. Staff are friendly. Rooms are clean. Unfortunately our TV didn't work but we was only trying to watch the news. It gets very hectic in breakfast room so go early to beat the mad rush. Very central location 10 mins walk to south Kensington tube.

Our sincere thanks to this guest for the review and I am delighted to know that she so enjoyed her stay with us and all the benefits of this very central location. It was especially rewarding to read the comment about the team - we have given them a lot of help lately with additional guest service training and it...

We stayed in this hotel for a short break in London. The location was great for visiting the museums. It was also close to the tube so we could get anywhere in London really easily. The only thing that would make the hotel better would be more choice at breakfast.

Our thanks to these guests for taking the time to post such a thorough review, which will be very helpful for clients considering staying with us, given the detail provided. On the specific point regarding the continental breakfast, we accept that its simple with little choice available at present, we charge all our guest for this service based on what...

I'm halfway through my one-night stay, but not even a complimentary breakfast at Harrods would entice me to stay here again. 1. They demand photo ID on check-in. 2. You have to hand your key in when you go out. 3. The cold water doesn't run cold, so you have no drinking water. 4. The decor is a joke -...

Basic hotel, best thing is the location, 2 minute walk to the tube. Yes a budget hotel but £180 for 2 nights I at least expected a comfy bed but instead could feel the springs in my back. Customer service wasn't great either. Breakfast ok.

My friend and I just got back from a pleasant 6 night stay at the Avni Kensington Gardens hotel in south central London. It's located on a quiet street about a 5 minute walk from the Gloucester tube station which is a 35 minute ride direct from Heathrow Station on the Piccadilly Line. It is very near a Waitrose supermarket,...

Yes the location is good and the continental breakfast was ok (book for a week if you want both sides of your bread toasted) the room and bed were so dire I can hardly express myself. The bed, covered in thin although clean sheet with no mattress cover, was so old and/or used I thought it was probably recovered from...

Stayed for a week, if we could have afforded to we would have changed hotels on first night. Bed not great, room was freezing unless you put heating on high and kept windows closed at all times. Breakfast, don't bother, bread a meat and cheese with some cereal, toasters don't work, we ended up skipping most days. Carpet in room...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

“Smallest room ever slept in !!!!! Barely enough room 2 people. Bed accessible only by one side. Extremely hot despite radiator turned off and this was February !!!! Had keep small overhead window open throughout night to allow some cool air flow through - don't know how anyone could sleep there in warmer weather. Hairdryer broken and despite reporting it each day not provided with alternate until last morning. Needless to say tiny en-suite !!!!! Only positive thing say is room clean and bed sleepable !!!!!”
