You can survive in the hotel and it's one of the most affordable options, but the rooms were quite poor. Pros + Good location + Friendly staff Cons - Complimentary breakfast is a chaos - Rooms are really small and need some refurbishing/more attention - Noisy in the mornings/not very well isolated

Booked a room for the night. It's a basic hotel so were not expecting a lot and were happy with the room they gave us at the back overlooking a quiet mews. However, the windows were the dirtiest I have seen in a long time, so much so that, when the sun shone on them, you could only barely see...

The hotel is situated in a very nice area of London : South Kensington has beautiful Victorian houses and nice shops & eating addresses. We had two rooms at the back and they were very quiet, no noise at all. The rooms are rather small, but big enough when spending all day in town. The Gloucester Road Underground is within...

Travelled with my husband and 3 children and booked 1 triple and 1 double. Triple was big, double a little small, but fine. Rooms very clean and modern. Location brilliant. Price brilliant. Continental breakfast great, kids loved it, we loved it. No bar in hotel, didn't need one, we were tourists out of hotel all day. Reception staff lovely. For...

The Avni provides excellent value for a hotel close to the centre of London. Located 5 minutes from Gloucester Road tubs station, with a large range of pubs and restaurants a short walk away. Check in and out was great. The rooms are functional, clean, and the bed was comfortable. I did not have breakfast so cannot comment. I will...

We stayed there for 5 nights and it was brilliant as base to explore London. The hotel is located 5 mins from the train station. The rooms are small but we only needed a base and we were out all day anyway. Breakfast was great and a nice selection. I would stay there again... But a small bar fridge in...

The Avni was great for the location and price we paid for 2 nights. We had a room on the 4th floor at the back - it was blissfully quiet at night. The hotel is a bit overheated, so we turned our radiator off even though it was -2 outside! There are lots of local restaurants and a supermarket nearby....

We stayed in the Avni for two nights with our son and daughter and son inlaw and four year grandson. The rooms were clean but a big variance in size. Our triple was a good size but my daughters double was very very small. Showers were very good and the location also very good. Breakfast very limited but staff very...

Although a good location for our trip (a concert at earls court) our experience at the hotel wasn't great. After 3 emails to the hotel prior to our stay about dropping our bags off none of which they replied too, arriving to our room a findig a twin rather than double, waiting half an hour to have this changed, then...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
