This Kensington Rooms Hotel located at 137 Cromwell Road is closed for renovations. We went here by mistake when we booked online for another place with a similar name, Kensington Rooms and Apartments, but located around the corner at 37 Collingham Place. Imagine our dismay when we walked up and found it completely boarded up. It took a few minutes... More

I unfortunately did not read the reviews before I booked the room. I can merely echo the sentiments of the other reviewers who had an awful experience. My room did not have a working ceiling light, broken curtain rail, no blinds so was light once the sun came up, walls were dirty, bed and mattress was broken and creaked all... More

Checked in for London Marathon. Room was in basement. Arrived late and essentially had to stay as too late to go anywhere else. bedding ripped, old and worn blankets instead of duvets. The smallest bathroom I have ever seen - had to squeeze past sideways to get to the shower. Staff were pleasent. However, not a hotel I would recommend... More

We stayed here for one night in May for a Royal Albert Hall double header. We had a twin room with two huge bed in - one had a very hard mattress, the other a nice soft one which suited both me and my friend as she likes hard beds. Bed linen was clean, carpet and bathroom was clean although... More

I booked in advance for this room. Myself and my friend were to perform in a show in Chelsea so we thought we would book somewhere within a 30 minute walking distance. We came across Kensington Rooms on Booking.com we clicked through pictures of the rooms and what not and decided that we quite fancied this place so we would... More

When I booked this hotel I advised that we needed a room that was easily accessible for my wife who has a disability. We had a room on the 4th floor, took the lift no problem but then it was up a flight of stairs, through the corridor and then down a flight of stairs before we reached the room.... More

My wife booked this hotel on the basis that it was central and inexpensive. Didn't look at reviews, but wish we had. Room is tiny, threadbare carpets, peeling plasterwork and paintwork, mattress was ancient, bathroom was hobbit sized, old single glazed noise so could hear all the traffic noise outside (even on the 4th floor). Not much more to say... More

The staff was rude and discriminatory. The room they gave us was dirty. The bathroom had vomit on walls. The room did not have any outside light. The entire experience was so bad... I will never ever go anywhere this place. Somebody should shut down the place. It is an health hazard.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
