Having stayed in some very very small hotel rooms in London before this was a more than adequate hotel. A little of the beaten track but only three tube stops from Picadilly this was a perfect base to explore London from and daughter and I soon became subway experts. Very quiet road and safe to catch the tube and walk...

It was not a great experience. Our "double" in room 304 was a 3/4 and the whole room was about 6 feet square. There was an horrendous 80s fleecey blanket on the bed and the decor was ancient. On the plus side, the bathroom was lovely and the water was hot. But brekky was cornflakes or bread and the whole...

2nd stay in 2 years. Excellent location for tube travel to anywhere in London. Also bus no.24 right outside which will take you directly to Trafalgar Square. Room (412) was ready on arrival at after 10am..fantastic for early flight check in. Average/small size inc tiny but adequate shower & toilet.Just what we needed. Spot on for my husband & i...

I stayed for three nights. The room was tiny but clean to a point. The underside of the cover was stained in what I cannot guess. Head board was fragmented and very sticky to lean on. The basin tap required a careful use as I was sure any reasonable force would remove it from the basin. The window over the...

Just got back from a 5 night stay at Sidney Hotel. We arrived around noon, excited to quickly nap and freshen up, after flying overnight, and we were told our 11:30am advertised checkin was actually 2pm and our rooms would not be available. We came back at 2pm, and as promised, our rooms were ready to go. We were first...

It can easily compete with 1000 pound hotels in the city. Superb, professional staff. A large number of staff, not just one trying to take care of many. New, refurbished, clean room with new linen and beds. Comfortable rooms with all amenities. Good sized bathrooms, with all sorts of bathroom assesories. CLEAN. Specious reception. (unusual for the area) and well...

We stayed at the Sidney for 7 nights. The hotel was very handy to everything- Victoria station 5 minutes walking distance and a number of pubs and restaurants near by. The room was small for 3 people but essentially all we needed was a bed at night - the room was comfortable, warm and clean. The room was also very...

I recently spent 2 nights here. The hotel is very well located and great value. The room was clean but as it was at the front of the hotel very noisy. Staff were friendly. Breakfast very basic. Plenty of places to eat locally . Only a bar at the hotel.

We, a party of three, stayed at Sidney hotel for a long weekend in London. The choice was made with cost being a decisive factor for a hotel close to the center. Sidney is located within walking distance to Victoria and Pilmico tube stations. Furthermore, a bus stop is located exactly in front of the front door! I consider Sidney...

Have stayed here before and know the rooms are small. This time I was in a room you couldn't swing a mouse in - Room 209. The desk with drawers was unusable because the bedside table was jammed in front of it between it and the bed. The bathroom was clean but the 17" niche for the sink provided nowhere...

Staying in Pimlico

Neighbourhood Profile
Pimlico
Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames, is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and some downtime spent along the Thames, Pimlico is highly recommended.
