We tried this hotel for the first time, I was in the hospital close by. From reception, to the bars, restuarant and the cleaning staff were all first class. Was one of those hotels we fell in love with, we are back in a couple of weeks.

Stayed here some nights just before Christmas. Nice, central hotel right in Russell Square. We enjoyed the place. Nothing negative we could mention here actually :-) Nice, clean room. Dark wood furniture in the hotel.

I just took advantage of an on-line deal for the Hotel Russell in Russell Sq., London. I was wary, having been bitterly disappointed nearby (that's another story and another review) so before making the non-refundable booking, I actually stopped in and inquired. There was a buzz of activity at the entrance and we were greeted by no fewer than 4...

Pretty decent hotel, not bad rooms but bathrooms a bit behind the times and some fittings a little past their best. Whatever you do, at least once take the staircase down - from the 2nd it is the most amazing architectural gem even if the corporate carpeting is out of kilter. A real treat!

This was our second visit here within the last two months .Convenient, walkable location for Kings Cross and St Pancras stations and the tube. The rooms are on the 'snug' side, though the accommodation is generally satisfactory. Bar prices are a joke though this is, as we are frequently reminded by those living in the south, 'London'. I still feel...

Stayed for 2 nights and found the staff so friendly and hotel was lovely. Minute walk away from tube and walkable distance to Covent Garden and Leicester Square. Breakfast time had a short queue but we were asked if we wanted to sit in bar area to eat and just had to go into main room for hot breakfast ,made...

got this at the last minute from lastminute.com and brilliant price. I stayed at this hotel a lot in the 90's and my recollection is of beautiful large, graceful, Victorian settings. The current reality is modern, undistinguished rooms. nothing at all to complain about but sadly my expectations were very high. Couple of irritating things, cost of the wifi was...

Right near Russell square stop on Piccadilly line, which gives you super convenient access to the whole city. Opted for the included breakfast buffet which was reliably good and very filling. Our rooms were well appointed (had a US outlet!!) and beds were comfy. Noisy, yes. Americans take note - no washcloths provided by hotels in Europe! Don't get surprised...

This was our second visit to the Hotel Russell and it won't be our last. It looks impressive from the outside but step inside and you will be amazed by the magnificent marble staircase and crystal chandeliers. You are surrounded by Victorian elegance. The dining room is identical to that on the Titanic and was designed by the same architect,...

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
