Me and my boyfriend stayed at Ambassador Hotel for 2 nights (18-19 May '17) having booked a double DELUXE room. We just wanted to be in a fair normal room, nothing special and in order to avoid the least good option, we chose Deluxe one and paid for it. What we got was a room in the basement, with a...

Rooms look nothing like the photographs. No air conditioning, no extractor fan working in the bathroom, room very shabby and bathroom had previous guests toiletries left on the side of the bath. Everything needs a really good clean and needs updating desperately. Smoke alarm had a plastic bag wrapped around it which was very concerning as there was no fire...

After reading the reviews I almost cancelled my reservation to the hotel. It is what you pay for, it's a 3 stars hotel not 5 stars in Oxford St, it was good enough for us for nearly a week we left every morning came back at night. The staff were friendly and very nice. Breakfast looked nice as well many...

This is a good place to stay when you are in London. The rooms are clean and well equipped, and the staff very helpful. And it is cheap! Be warned - if they put you in the basement there will be no window. The aircon works well though.

We booked this as the location was great for getting about London as we were only there one night to see a show. And as they say it did what it said on the tin. The rooms were small and could do with an update. Beds are clean and very comfortable. It's nothing special but it did the job for...

I wouild advise not to stay at this hotel. My experience was very poor. Rooms are so small that more than 2 bags cannot go inside the room. Toilet also too small. This hotel does not provide free Wifi service. They charge for it. Breakfast was horrible. There is nothing good which i can tell about this hotel. Avoid staying...

We booked a rain with a bath as my friend was running in the marathon. The room we were offered was in the basement with no window which means no fresh air and no bath. I complained and we were given two single rooms but still, no bath for my friend to soak her aching legs after running 26 miles!...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
