This hotel is well situated in a safe area overlooking the Thames, just across from an underground stop. This proved to be the ideal spot for my husband and me, as we got reacquainted with London's excellent underground transport system. We took the tube to the hotel from Heathrow, only transferring once. (Tip: there are 2 flights of stairs to...

There is very little to complain about at this hotel, especially when given a free upgrade overlooking the Thames and London Eye! The room is a little compact but providing every creature comfort, even down to the light switches which were brilliant by the way. With a touch of a button they all dim and set a fantastic mood. This was our second stay at The Royal Horseguards; it definitely lived up to the fabulous stay we had the first time. The staff are incredibly helpful and the rooms are beautiful. We were upgraded and the complementary mini bar is such a good touch. Perfect location for the West End, the tube and London Eye. Worth every penny.

This is my idea of a hotel that would be very, very difficult to better. Perfect location, excellent old world building on the outside and inside stunning decor. The staff who I think make or break an hotel are the best ambassadors they could pick, nothing was too much trouble, from taking your luggage up to the room, showing you...

Lovely hotel in a marvellous position. Quiet, comfortable rooms with everything one needs. Friendly helpful staff and the atmosphere is relaxed. I enjoyed it. Ideal for business, family or meeting friends and its sufficiently away from the busy areas to be quiet but within walking distance of the shops and restaurants and sights for a city break.

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
