Check in was a mess. Their system was down and it took 20 minutes for something that should have taken five. I paid over 500$ US dollars a night to stay in a nasty little box with two very tiny grime streaked windows. The tub was very narrow and was filled with plenty of hair from the last inmates. Jackhammers...

A perfect place situated by the river Thames and close to the underground. Nice staff, excellent breakfast and a fantastic building. The rooms were big compared to what you normally get for your money in London. High standard on everything!

I have travelled all over the world and have stayed at 5 star hotels. The service was impeccable. I cannot say the same of the Royal Horseguards. The room was not cleaned properly and there were rings missing from the shower curtain! No one ever showed us all the features of the room. The concierge was helpful but, left out...

I wanted a "special" experience and for me this was an expensive exercise having a 5 night stay at this property. The rooms were fine and appropriately furnished but now realise I could have done much better re value for money. Everything overpriced. Staff were very polite as you would expect but the WOW factor was missing. Location good but...

For most people Westminster equals London. This hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of a number of key attractions. You're close to Buckingham Palace, Parliament, and Westminster Abbey to name a few. We chose a room with a view of the Thames and had a remarkable stay. The rooms facing the river can see out to the London Eye...

We have stayed at Royal Horseguards 5 or 6 times in recent years, always chosen as an unbeatable location and had been amongst our favourite 'top-5' London hotels. It is hugely disappointing to now say that I doubt we will feel like returning to the hotel again in the future. Our 'river-view suite' enjoyed an excellent vista across the Thames,...

Stayed here for two nights. Had a great twin room facing the garden and river. Huge clean room with everything that you would need and more. Staff was great and breakfast very nice. Only slow part was checking in but that is not really an issue, hard for the hotel to know when people are arriving at the same time....

Let me start by saying this is my favourite London hotel but we were disappointed on this trip. The queue for check in was 10 minutes- the hotel appear to have an issue with breakfast. Our tea and coffee took 15 minutes to arrive and I needed to ask for it four times- I opted for avocado on toast which...

Loved this hotel! We had a suite on the top floor, river view, and it was excellent. Huge bathroom with claw foot tub, rain head shower for two, tv, heated floor etc etc... bedroom was big with nice appointments and the living room was also quite large. The minibar was complementary and it had everything we wanted. Room service was...

Staying in Westminster

Neighbourhood Profile
Westminster
If you only had an afternoon to experience London on a grand scale, Westminster would be a wise place to start. The ornate Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey sit adjacent at a corner of Parliament Square, and a short stroll along The Mall leads to Buckingham Palace. Trafalgar Square and Nelson's Column are just up the road as well. As captivating as the architecture is, the wonders of Mother Nature are highlights of the area too. St James's Park (arguably London's loveliest), the expansive Green Park, and pedestrian friendly tree lined paths along the river showcase the exquisite manicure provided by English gardeners. Just beyond the landmarks and the gorgeous outdoor spaces, quiet residential squares and age old local pubs offer a more subdued take on this global seat of power in the heart of London.
