We spent 4 nights here and found it was walking distance from the major shopping streets and close to the Oxford Circus tube station. There's also a great little pub nearby, the Horse & Groom, although we didn't eat here because the kitchen was closed...More
We were looking for somewhere (relatively!) inexpensive to stay in London for a quick one-night stay and came across this place. Our room was like a nice little apartment, with separate toilet and shower and looked like it might have been a batchelor flat at...More
I liked staying at the Astor. My room was nice, even though not modern. But that's exactly, what I liked about it. What might be an issue for others is the sound of the underground that accompanies you through the night.

Staff were very attentive and friendly
Room was very nice and well priced for location at the top of regent Street
Tip don't take the long way round cut through the BBC courtyard to Hallam Street
This sophisticated and sociable slice of Central London is a shopper’s paradise, offering the latest fashions, gadgets, and souvenirs. Fitzrovia is conveniently located between the major retail thoroughfares of Regent Street to the west and Tottenham Court Road to the east, with a handful of well connected Tube stations dotted around the area for easy transport. This neighbourhood is a favorite
among foodies as well, with an impressive number of quality restaurants, pubs, cafes and food shops vying for your patronage – especially along Charlotte Street and near Goodge Street Station.

There seemed to be a lot of safe street parking- there was a Bentley parked out front the entire time we were there. It is one block from the BBC HQ- maybe they have a garage? (We didn't drive- from the US. Too Scary!)
