HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 8 December 2016

I needed a hotel room that could accommodate three adults, and I wanted the hotel to be in/near the Mayfair/Soho area. I looked at many hotels before deciding on the Doubletree; this hotel had the best price in the best location based on those requirements. We stayed in room 402 (one queen bed and one twin) and I felt it...

Well located for central London. Hotel staff friendly and place is clean. Welcome cookie was a nice touch. Unfortunately the room I had was very small, barely enough room to get around the bed. Lots of mod cons, yet really old furniture in poor condition. No bottles of water, although there was tea and coffee and biscuits in the room....

I stayed at the Doubletree Marble Arch on a 2 night business trip to London recently. Admittedly I picked it because of an Amex special offer. But I will definitely be back! Early check in, friendly and attentive staff, very good complimentary breakfast, cozy bar and light fare. Great location near Soho and lots of attractions. Overall very good to...

Construction in progress next door and will be in progress for a while yet! Very good location less than 5 min walk from central line tube station! Efficient staff, good breakfast, clean rooms but there is no atmosphere in this hotel! Very polite very clinical, no chat or quirkiness! As I said good for business trips!

My partner and I had a two night stay at the double tree. From Pepe's enthusiastic and helpful welcome on the steps of the hotel, as we stepped out of the cab on arrival, to when we checked out, we were made to feel like special guests. Everyone was so friendly and made us feel like people rather than just...

It was hard to sleep because construction of a new building right next door. It went on until 12 midnight every night and started again at 7 am. I heard drilling, jack hammers, trucks, workers talking. Very unpleasant experience!

I had two stays here recently for work. First the good- the property itself is in a pretty good location, being a block off of Oxford street, very short walk to Marble Arch underground, and near some good restaurants and lots of shopping. I often stay at properties in this area, and like the convenience to transportation and shopping, as...

I will start with the good. The staff at the front desk and the concierge staff (especially Danny) were super. They were very nice and helpful. The staff at the restaurant for breakfast were also wonderful. The breakfast itself was very nice. The rooms are variable - I started in a ground-floor room which was small, dark and noisy due...

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
