Only stayed for one night prior to going to Albert Hall. So pleased we booked here. Lovely room with very comfy 4 poster bed. We slept until 9am which we rarely do in any hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, lovely bar and very nice breakfast. Will definitely stay here again on our next trip to London

The Gore was recommended to me by a friend who lives in South Kensington. She has an impeccable sense of style and suggests it to international visitors who want a 'taste' of London. The Gore was exactly as she described it and is an excellent introduction to 'Victorian' London. Although I only stayed briefly, the experience was a perfect introduction...

We have eaten here each time we go to a show at the Albert Hall because of its location. We enjoyed another excellent meal served by very attentive staff. The restaurant is cosy and intimate with a good menu and good choice of wines. The meal couldn't have been better for us.

Great location, lovely hotel, very pleasant, helpful and attentive staff. only small negative, it took a while for hot water to run through for shower and sink. Otherwise there was little to not like and much to admire.

Swift and personal service from staff that really want you to feel at home. Great breakfast buffet, nice lounge room for reading and recovering from hectic London - and the Bar is absolutely among the most charming hotel bars you will find. In a city with no lack of "show-off" refurbishments and gltzy hotels, this is unique home away from...

Pros - Lovely old hotel, which is full of character. - 5 minute walk from The Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, and the Science, V&A, and Natural History museums. - Food is delicious - Cocktails are fantastic - Friendly and accommodating staff (but see cons below). Cons - Above pros let down by lack of staff. The staff that were...

I’m pretty sure if you follow all my recommendations you’re going to be running out of energy because there's so much going on this season! Spend a night at The Gore in Chelsea to recharge your batteries! The 5-star hotel which is opened since 1892 is the neighbour with Royal Albert Hall and recalls a luxurious atmosphere and the best...

Stunning hotel, wonderful staff. Expensive but well worth it, marked down on the value as the bar was overpriced. Booked for convenient location. Will certainly return, next time to try The Tudor Room

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
