The room I was in (219) had clearly been missed from renovation works, but it was perfectly comfortable for business use. My main issue was the shower was far too low for the average man to use but this was outweighed by the location and the room rates. I had an issue with my heating (not working) on night one,...

First off , a great location near to a circle line underground station with other places of interest within walking distance. The foyer is grand with an adequate bar , the staff were efficient and friendly enough and the food was good. I will single out a concierge named Dave with praise - approachable and helpful and a pleasant guy....

The hotel in general would benefit from makeover - the room I stayed in was 'tired' and, although clean, would benefit from refreshment. (And a new 'unmelted hairdryer). However, the queen size bed was extremely comfortable, the room was spacious and I enjoyed a good night's sleep. The breakfast was wonderful with a whole range of foods to tempt you...

The location of this hotel is excellent - it's on the Piccadilly Tube line. The hotel is located on a quiet street. But our room had a frosted window - this is beause the room faced a brick wall. When we inquired about this the next day we were told we could upgrade to a better floor for 30 pounds...

Grand entrance to this hotel gives you a false impression of the rest of it. The rooms are tired and dated and cleanliness could be improved, I had complimentary sweet wrappers in my sink from the previous guest. Had to call maintenance twice, firstly the previous guest had blown the fuse to the wall sockets. Secondly the TV system wouldn't...

My room has seen better days. It was tatty, with paint chipped off the walls, the hairdryer did not work, dark, hardly any electrical sockets which were easily accessible, various room items not replenished the following day, and just not pleasant. For the price that I paid, there are much better options. The only good aspect is the location but...

Unfo the room was not as appeared in photos and it was definitely in need of an upgrade. The carpets were old with many marks and all the furniture gave very bad and old impression. The feeling from the moment we entered was that, ok it is just for 2-3 days... we can manage. There were no amenities in the...

The room is in need of updating, television works occasionally and the noise is terrible. The front desk employees are not friendly nor helpful. Fire alarm went off and while the hotel is within easy walking distance to attractions, I am very dissappointed in the hotel and will not return.

We stayed at the Millennium Gloucester for a couple of nights whilst visiting London for leisure. The hotel is within a two minute walk of Gloucester Road tube station. The reception staff & reception area are welcoming. We were given an upgrade to a superior room; a good sized room with two beds. The ensuite facilities are good with a...

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had room 101 on the first floor right over the casino. The casino guests who were smokers, smoked, talked and laughed all through the night. I would not recommend this room if you want a good nights sleep. Apart from the room, the hotel is very nice and with exceptionally...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
