We checked-in here as soon as we reached London. The staff were very friendly and warm, welcomed us with warm smiles. This hotel is situated very near to Gloucester Road Tube station. There are plenty of Eating options around this place such as Starbucks, Burger King, KFC, Light of India and so on. The room was warm and cozy, which... More

We have just got home from another one night stay at the Best Western, which is very convenient if you are visiting the Royal Albert Hall, as we were last night. Check in was quick, staff very friendly & the room was small but very clean & had everything we needed. The only downside was that the room was very... More

We stayed here for five days, Clean hotel and I especially love they have kettle provided. Room is not really big but it's good enough for placing two luggages. Great location which we can take underground directly from airport within 1 hour time. Besides, Waitrose is just opposite to us and just few underground stations next to oxford circus &... More

We were greeted by a disinterested looking lady who directed us to our room. Down to the basement we went to find a room just big enough to fit a bed, a tiny wardrobe and a desk. The room looked clean apart from a patch of black mould at the bottom of the wardrobe. We opened the curtains to see... More

Stayed here 5 nights en route to a holiday in Europe. The location is a major plus. As with many older London hotels, it's a bit of a warren, but helpful staff overcome most problems. Definitely not 4 star by my standards, but nevertheless a good hotel for the purpose. Aircon pretty ineffective, but the windows in our room opened... More

Literally, this hotel is a maze. You could go crazy trying to find your room or reception especially if you don't use the same lift each time. Checkin is quick and you get the feeling right away that it's a different kind of hotel when your room number starting with a 6 is in the basement. Not all rooms in... More

We stayed here for a Saturday night as we were visiting the V&A and Albert Hall during the day. The location is excellent - two-minutes walk from Gloucester Road tube and no more than 10-15 minutes from both the attractions I've mentioned. Our room was nice too, spacious and comfortable with plenty of plug sockets - including next to the... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
