* Only 1 star (out of 5) for this hotel since -5 can't be given. * The room is really really small * Expensive room rates and no value for the money * The glasses/mugs were dirty * If you are gay, i would not recommend this hotel. We paid £186 for a 1 night stay and were given room 205 which is right on the stairwell, the room was so so small. We could not walk around the sides of the bed without walking sidewards. This Hotel has really been re-decorated and refreshed since I last stayed there. In an excellent location, right in the heart of things and next to Gloucester Road tube, very friendly staff. Offered a free upgrade when I checked in with my wife to a " Garden Room" If I had been on my own, as usual, I would not... More

I recently stayed at the Best Western, The Cromwell from Nov 12th to Nov 15th. Overall I would say that I had a very good stay but that opinion is influenced greatly by the great area and my good experience with most of the staff. I love the South Kensington area. Its close enough to the center while keeping most... More

The Cromwell is very well situated, close to bus and tube (Gloucester Road - Circle, District & Piccadilly lines). My room was small but clean and comfortable. At the back of the hotel, it was quiet and had a small balcony overlooking a garden. The bathroom was very modern with a walk in shower but no bath. Lighting was dim,... More

Very friendly staff at the reception.Clean and tidy room. Very small, but adequate for a solo traveller. Caused problems in finding somewhere to put the kettle (hidden away in the wardrobe), as there was only a small desk and a bedside table. Had to move my stuff onto the small space on the floor. Bathroom was a good size though... More

Rooms were small but very clean and staff always friendly and helpful. Good price for central location and would have no issues staying again. When booking avoid rooms beginning with 8 as these are in the basement so have no view unless this doesn't matter to you.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
