Positives first, clean, large room, mostly friendly staff. Breakfast OK but no more. It was possible to leave luggage before check-in and after check-out. Negatives. Got a room in the basement, and the nearby underground was noisy and the furniture rattled when the trains passed. Same for the floors above, did not try higher up. No elevator.

We have been visiting London for three nights in Shakespeare Hotel. Its location is perfect, and the rooms are quite nice. English breakfast is served every day by paying or continental breakfast for free.

I have been commuting to London daily which is an exhausting additional 5 hours on top of my working day so decided to stay in the City Mon-Thurs. I checked into the Shakespeare Hotel on Mon 18th November 2013 for four nights having found a late deal online. This is a great hotel, in a great location. My single room...

Excellent location, wonderful service! Very friendly. I reccomend this hotel to everyone. The room very clean. The only Negative thing: wifi price too high! It work for only one device. [25£ for 7 days] We were in 3.

My husband and I stayed in London for three nights. We chose the Shakespeare hotel because of the price and the location (near the tube, market, pubs, attractions). The room was so small, we couldn't unpack. Alfter climbing 4 set of stairs, which was ok because they said there's no lift, we arrived with all our bags upstairs, had to...

Excellent location, wonderful service and an extraordinary breakfast make up for the tired rooms, lumpy bed and lack of lift. Definitely value for money. We would recommend for a family as we were travelling with 5.

Stayed here for 5 nights at the beginning of October. Hotel has a great location, only a short walk from Paddington train and underground stations. Area has lots of restaurants, and small shops to get drinks and candy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel looks better from the outside than the inside. We stayed on the third floor in building...

Perfectly good place if you just want somewhere to sleep. We stayed for three nights with two kids (6 and 8). A bit noicy, small bathroom, hot! No good ventilation. Very nice staff. But we're glad that we chose English breakfast! Hardly any fruit, no vegies and just toast, tasteless waffles and a bit of cereals with just sweet spreads...

Room 121. Twin room. One night, £78. Overall: A little dissapointing. Positives: Very well located, only 3 minutes to Paddington Station. Nice breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. High ceilings. Looks pretty good from the outside. Negatives: The windows and walls were unable to block any external sounds out from inside and outside the hotel. There was a lot of noise...

The perfect place to stay during your visit in London. Very nice neighborhood, a personal favourite, with nice cafes and restaurants. A very nice walk to Hyde Park is recommended or to Oxford Street for those shopping lovers, both are walking distance away. Rooms have been upgraded and there is always someone to help. The price is very low, for what you get, so be sure to check us out. ... more   less
