Had a bit of a booking mix up with booking, com but hotel sorted it out and i could still stay there which was a big relief. Sorted out by Alfred on reception. Hotel very handy for paddington and the other areas I needed to get to. Alfred helped me with travel info too as i was going to shops. Breakfast lovely, a bit busy down in breakfast room but once you were in there you were served quickly. Very tasty sausages. All staff helpful from the cleaner hoovering to the breakfast staff to those on reception. Will stay again if in area. I had room at very top so was quiet but steps might be a bit tricky for some but staff do check if you are ok with that. no lift so bear that in mind when booking and ask for a low room if needed.

First thing I liked was the location- Paddington station is a few steps away. Next , was the helpfulness of the man working at the reception :he helped me with my luggage , managed to bring a portable radiator for the room as soon as I asked for it, gave me directions I needed. Unfortunately I don't know his name. The bathroom was decent and relatively new. On the other hand:very tiny room, signs of mould on the walls- disgusting , uncomfortable bed matress, absence of bathroom door ! But the worst was the breakfast area. Total absence of ventilation - when you left the room you were ...stinking ! Your hair, your clothes , everything...This made me ...swallow just a little something , grab my coffee and drink it at the reception area.

Came back slightly concerned after reading recent reviews, but once again it didn’t disappoint: London hotels are typically unaffordable for the standard you will find abroad, and in a huge city like London there will be traffic noice. When comparing this place to others in central London this is truly value for money; We stayed a family of 4 including 2 teenagers in a 3rd floor bedroom with 2 queen beds. It was clean and comfortable. Climbing the stairs is part of the charm in these old London houses. Breakfast was great and plentiful - one of the few tourist class hotels to serve an excellent full English breakfast. There’s limited space in the breakfast room, so you might want to get down there early. We will happily come back for yet another visit.

Nice and clean hotel. Very helpfull and friendly staff. Nice breakfast. Second time we stayed here, and we will come again! - Great value for money! Expect a little noise from the street and undergrund, but nothing to worry about if you bring earplugs :-)

This hotel was the worst experience ever, nothing like the pictures on Booking., totally deceiving, it’s a rip off. The hotel is located a a shady location in front of a low income building (projects), dangerous at night time. Advertised with A/C, a “fan”, extremely DIRTY SHOWER, poor customer service, rude staff, smelly, garbage bags at the entrance of the “hotel”. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!.. I have pictures to prove it!!!.. Totally waste of money and time!!

Having in the past tried several hotels in the paddington area of london, none of which ticked all my boxes, I was delighted to find what has over the past four years become my home from home in london. The Belvedere in peaceful and attractive Norfolk square is a family run hotel managed by a delightful couple called Richard and Leslie. They are very much hands on and are supported by an excellent , helpful and friendly team of reception, bedroom service and breakfast room staff. The hotel is very clean and well presented with well appointed bedrooms and bathrooms plus comfortable beds.. Breakfast is superb and the prices of rooms represent really excellent value. Paddington stations are 2 mins walk and the city centre is 20 mins max by underground. I cannot recommend this small

Do not stay at this hotel. Room grubby and very dated. Pillows smelt nasty and lumpy. The room was very tired, I should have realised this when the reception area has a painting of Winston Churchill on the wall, and it obviously hasn’t been decorated since his term in office. The room shook every 3 minutes or so due to proximity of Paddington station and underground line. So much so we couldn’t hear ourselves speak. The underground lines created a mini earthquake. It was so bad we could not stay in the room overnight and ended up travelling home and forfeiting our breakfast. However the thought of eating breakfast in the ‘breakfast room’ did not appeal if the rest of the rooms were anything to go by. I very rarely post reviews but I have felt compelled to warn other

Myself and my daughter stayed here for 2 nights 25th and 26th July 2022 in room 26 and we were more than happy with this nice little hotel. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, and I can't understand the bad reviews on here saying different. It is a bit of a chore having to climb the stairs to the rooms, which are typically on the small side for inner city private hotels, but that's how it has to be in old buildings. If people want all the modern conveniences like lifts and large rooms with power showers, go get yourself a Travelodge room! Breakfast was included in the room rate and it was a very nice breakfast as well, served by very nice ladies in the breakfast room. The breakfast room did get very warm but it's summer and so be it. Our bedroom was at the front of the

Stayed here for two nights due to train issues cause by weather, I am unsure how this hotel can charge the price it did for such a TINY room. The room would have been better off as a storage cupboard. Pillows smelt old and dirty, one towel provided which was old and raggy. The room was hot and window needed to be held open with a bin to circulate air. Size was unreasonable for one person. No lift, lots of flights of stairs with your case. Net curtain was ripped and yellow, general up keep and wear of the hotel felt dirty, old and tired. Can’t really think of any positives, was that disgusted with my first nights stay I passed on the included breakfast, if this is the state of the room what is the state of the kitchen. It’s 2022, time for a hotel upgrade.
