The Diplomat is very close to Eaton Square and only a 5 min walk from King´s road. The hotel is quiet and we had a very spacious room. The interior style is old fashioned British, but well maintained. Breakfast has a big variety, the breakfast room is in the basement but very light and even has a little terrace where... More

An easy walk to the Chelsea Flower Show brought me here, along with Pico Iyer's description of it as something out of a Graham Greene story. Very amiable front desk and dining room staff. I had the small single first-floor room that's shown in the traveler photos here on TA. Clean and tidy and a kettle for tea plus biscuits... More

This listed building is situated near some of the most expensive flats and apartments. The area is quiet. Pubs, restaurants and other shops are about a minimum of 10 mins walk. The hotel has a small number of rooms (around 25) that vary much in size and capacity. My single ground floor room was small but adequate with an also... More

No courtesy umbrella to go to the car or shops. Instead I was charged £8 for an umbrella which broke very quickly. Very poor attention to detail considering the price of £140 per night for a single room which was noisy because of single glazed windows. I will not be staying there again.

Stayed at Diplomat whilst on a leisure trip to London. Hotel is situated in a very quiet area. On arrival we were upgraded from a double room to a large executive room with a good comfy bed. There were teas/coffee facilities and a bar. The hotel is good for bus services and near to Victoria station and the underground. The... More

We stayed at this hotel because it was near friends of our were staying. This hotel is old and because it is historic, it cannot be updated (so we were told). The staff was relatively helpful but they don't have much to work with. The "icing on the cake" was a sign in the bathroom saying that the water was... More

The location was good and the price reasonable; a few minutes walk (aprox. 15min) until you reached the Victoria Station and the Underground. The staff was friendly. The hotel looks old fashioned but in a charming way although the furniture in the rooms looks old and warned out.

We just spent 7 nights at the Diplomat in one of their large rooms. Easy walk to Sloane square or Victoria, close access to buses. Very comfortable, with excellent kingsize bed, powerful shower in the tub, water fountain on the landing, efficient central heating and very little traffic noise. The staff is very friendly and international. If you want 5... More

Fab, character hotel with period decor and old fashioned English charm. 'Felt like being on a film set. Staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. Offered to help with luggage but I wanted to ride the quirky little lift with manually operated cage doors I'd read about! A well-maintained piece of history. I stayed in what I understand to be one of... More

Very nice building architecturally, but the decor is a bit jaded. Friendly and helpful staff. Offers good value as far as London goes. It does not have a swimming pool or fitness centre as far as I know but I cannot seem to be able to remove it from detailed review.

Neighbourhood Profile
Belgravia
Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.
