Location is great - walking distance to a lot including good shopping, food, pubs, and theatre district. The hotel is very quaint, old but well maintained, and has a lot of charm. I really enjoyed the living room and honesty system for a good selection of beverages and snacks. Bathroom in our room was definitely lacking and barely functional given...

I stayed for three nights at Hazlitt´s in January 2017 and chose it for its character and location. It´s ideally located in the middle of Soho with countless of shops, restaurants, bars, theatres and sights in walking distance. Also various tube stations are just a short walk away (Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus). Welcome and check-in was warm-hearted...

Staying at Hazlitt's was a step back in time and a fun change from a modern day hotel. The room was fairly large and the furnishings were beautiful. Be prepared for less than ideal lighting, no electrical outlet in the bathroom, and all the quirks that come with a building over 200 years old. The location was great and the...

My husband booked this hotel as a surprise for my birthday. After lunch at The Ivy we checked in here for the night. It is just gorgeous inside and our room was magnificent, complete with four poster bed, roll top bath and throne! Location is excellent for a trip to the theatre and Soho is buzzing with atmosphere. I can't...

We were only staying here for a few nights on a quick break. As someone who regularly stays in large chain hotels it was a welcomed break to have that "personal" touch. The room was quite small but very cosy, and the bed was really big and super comfortable. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly each day. Apart...

My wife and I have just stayed there over this weekend and simply loved the hotel. We stayed in the Teresa Cornelys Junior Suite and it was amazing. The room was beautifully designed and perfectly clean and tidy when we got there. The entire team were lovely and helpful and particularly Margherita and Angniesza ( I think) who happily adjusted...

I stayed here 2007. The hotel was beautiful location was superb. The room haunted. William Hazlitt ghost is there. One of the rooms is very haunted. He watched me while I was sleeping and the room felt like it was 200°. I see someone else has finally noticed this as well. Love to hear more about it.

If you want a very English experience, this is the hotel for you. Formed of three mews houses linked together, this is an independent hotel that celebrates it's location and heritage. Given the central London location (just off Soho Square, across the road from Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and easy walking distance to many central London attractions) the rooms were...

The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Soho. It is infront of a bar but our room was at the back of the hotel and so it was quiet. The hotel is full of character and has a great charm. Our room was nicely furnished and had such a comfy bed. We ordered a tea tray...

Spending as much time as I do in the more mainstream hotels and recognised luxury venues, it is nice for a change every now and again. Recent visits to London provided that opportunity and I took it. Hazlitts was close to the train station, and adjacent to where I wanted to be that evening, and so I booked in to...

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hazlitt's occupies a group of historic Georgian houses in Frith Street, off Soho Square. In 1718 there were no modern conveniences, but we have updated the plumbing, installed bathrooms and replaced most of the candles with electricity. At Hazlitt’s our philosophy is simple. We have set out to create the kind of accommodation we ourselves would love to find in the heart of one of the World’s great cities. Civilised surroundings; old fashioned hospitality; friendly efficient service; a location away from the roar of traffic, but within a very short walk of the most important attractions. ... more   less
