The food being served needs some attention. The people do make it up, but the restaurant needs to make sure that hot food reached the guests. Me and my friends were looking forward to a relaxing meal, but cold food did not help the cause.
I booked this hotel with a few requests, such as adjoining rooms to accommodate my family, parking, etc. I mentioned a few tidbits in passing such as plans to visit Museums, Birthdays, late check-outs, etc. Upon arrival in our rooms, my daughter's face hit the floor in surprise and delight with the gifts left to her by the hotel - customised balloons, cakes, mini-dressing gown and a welcome pack that included discounts at nearby family-friendly events, and a complimentary grown-up mocktail for her in the bar if she visited with her parents. Let me say it was the best mocktail (or even cocktail) we had ever tasted! All the staff were delightful, kind, generous, happy and really went out of their way, above and beyond any normal expectations, to make my daughter's birthday, and our weekend stay, a very special one to remember. My wife is ecstatic, but now wondering - have we set the bar too high for birthdays? Thank you again, all the staff at the Hilton Kensington - we will be back.…
Stayed here many times over the years due it's good location. Tube station, large shopping mall, decent eating places are all close by. The rooms though while clean and functional are really showing their age for instance still no electrical outlets anywhere close to the bed. Breakfast is adequate but not particularly good. Executive lounge looks to be permanently closed. As long as your expectations are not high it is an ok place to stay if the price is right.
The check in process was great and smooth however what followed was shocking. They gave us room and while we were unpacking someone entered the room using a key card stating that it was their room. We left the room with our luggage immediately and walked back to the reception stating that this happened and they moved us to another room. We were then moved to another room since we wanted a double bed and our first impression was that the room seems to be much smaller than the previous one. The condition of the room is dire with the below issues: 1) Hair on the bathtub floor 2) Hair on the towels 3) A green stain on the towel 4) Worn down iron board. It felt like I was ironing on the iron directly because the cushion is worn out 5) Really bad upkeep of the room with most of the doors losing paint and chipping 6) Lack of privacy in the washroom as you can hear whatever the person is doing inside like you’re in with them 7) One of the lamps in the room wasn’t working 8) We tried calling the reception but couldn’t reach them and didn’t receive a call back either 9) Alarm ringing at 6 am. I believe that the hotel should reset the alarm settings when the room is vacated as I was up at 6 am trying to figure out why there was an alarm. 10) Not to forget that a RANDOM GUEST walked into our ROOM…
Hotel is old and worn out, does not deserve Hilton category, wall paper on the corridor peeled off. Bathroom condition is very bad, hard to regulate the cold and hot water temperature, either too hot or water flow is very little, The worst hilton I have ever stayed. We requested for room clean at 10 am in the morning, the housekeeping only came at 5 pm to make up room, we have to wait outside the room till she had finished.
I bern staying at the Hilton Kensington over 15 years. Why because of the way we are treated. The staff is wonderful. The hotel is so easy to get around. You have Westfield mall across the street. The tube station all the bus lines or in front Of the hotel you also have bus lines. Patricia the manager is amazing. No wonder the staff are incredible as well. George in the bar treats you so well. Everyone is just the best.
The hotel was pleasant enough to stay in. The lobby, gym, and bedrooms clearly need refurbishing. However for the price this is a safe and friendly location. My bed was really noisy for some odd reason, but my mom and I laughed about it. I’m surprised this was given a four star rating, it’s a solid three star at best. The gym was in the basement and very neglected which was disappointing since I like to workout on my trips. Overall the property is fine, but they should invest in sprucing it up.
Hotel apparently messed up checkin and listed me as a no show. On the 2nd night I found another guest trying to enter my room, thought someone was trying to break in and hotel followed with a call where they lied to me. They eventually sorted it, offered compensation but they did not process it so I’ve lost points for nights they did not count. Also no power near bed was frustrating. Rubbish under beds and unclean door.
We were left on the kerb with no service. Eventually I went in and found my own trolley as the consiege was too busy on his phone. Rooms were small dark and tired. Not helped by the scaffolding and workmen peering in. Our non smoking room stank of cigarettes. This hotel is just not up to Hilton standards
I have stayed here more than a couple of times. Super location. Easy access to busses and tube station. Very close to Westfield shopping mall. Beautiful quiet surroundings to walk around. I write this to give my special thanks to Mariana Oliviera who helped me a great deal and resolved the issues that I faced. This gesture of hers will make me stay at this hotel again and again, whenever I visit London.
