I stay with the IHG group every week and one hotel stay rolls into another. However tonight's stay deserves a positive review thanks to young man on reception called Joshua.

I arrived at the hotel extremely early, just after 14:00 and understandly my room was not yet ready. Joshua gave me a drinks voucher and set me up in the downstairs bar / restaurant. It's comfy and quiet down there and I was able to get on with some work.

Once my room was ready I discovered that I had been upgraded which was a pleasant surprise. Then later in the evening Joshua was kind enough to bring me up a fan along with a key that allowed him to open the windows.

So often you're just another number, but not tonight. Joshua was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and polite.

I will use this hotel as often as possible and recommend it to others.

They have a room key problem.

Several times in one week our room keys failed to work. We were given a rehearsed answer about them being sensitive, or perhaps it was our fault for having the key close to an electronic device such as a phone. The latter was not the case, and in one instance the room key worked, followed by an empty pocket trip to the basement bar, and it failed when returning to my room an hour later. I travel a lot and have experienced the occasional, rare instance of keys not working. The problem here is the worst I’ve ever experienced.

Staff is very polite but inconsistent with policies regarding room credits for declining room cleaning. We were told numerous times that the credit can be applied to our charges in the restaurant/bar downstairs, and yet on the morning we check out to rush to Heathrow we find ourselves arguing with staff regarding this matter.

Overall this is a very good choice for accommodations given the convenience to public transportation and proximity to Heathrow. The rooms are relatively updated, clean, and are a good value for the price we paid.

Staff was exceptional in professionalism, especially at the breakfast buffet. They greeted cheerfully every morning and mindful to refill coffee or tea. We always felt like valued guests.

The buffet is convenient but is nearly identical every morning. They do not rotate the breakfast potatoes which is the norm at other hotels. Every day... the same potato triangles... again and again. Eggs were not very warm, and the pancake machine was usually not working properly or not set up for use that day.

Hello konapeaberry, Thank you for choosing Crowne Plaza and for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience. We are proud to be a hotel that is easy to do business with, unfortunately, during your stay, this does not seem to be the case. Having looked around the Acton area we took the decision to stay at the crowne plaza
Bed breakfast evening meal option
On arrival friendly greeting the room was tidy and clean and well up to standards bathroom working all ok
Tv in room plus fridge and tea coffee making facilities all ok
Breakfast well hearty plenty to choose from served by the staff
Evening dinner taken plenty of choice from the menu including special choice Monday to Friday again well suffice plates of food offered and hot has well
Of note the staff we encountered was all friendly helpful and talkative nothing too much trouble
Par for the course the cost we didn’t think it was overpriced
Would we stop again yes and we would recommend it to anyone stopping just outside the city of London.
Of note if your not using a car for transport . ... the underground station is 2 minutes walk from the hotel ... Hanger Lane

We have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions, often using IHG rewards to make our booking. The beds are comfortable and the bedding lovely, clean crisp white pillows and white cotton sheets with a choice of pillows available. The bathroom is also of a reasonable size and cleanliness. Unfortunately what really lets them down is the very poor service offered by staff at breakfast. We have had bad experiences on our last two visits, on the last but one visit we were asked by reception if everything had been to our satisfaction and so we took the opportunity to say that everything had been very good apart from the breakfast experience, I went on to explain all the issues and as the receptionist seemed genuinely bothered about the poor experience we described we hoped thing might have changed when we returned yesterday, but no. Like most hotels their is a sign asking guests to wait to be seated at the entrance to the breakfast area and we dutifully waited, and waited. There was a staff member up by the fruit and cereal area but she was leaning on a counter area chatting to another employee and had her back to us. A member of staff working in the bar area called across to the staff member who was chatting, pointing out that there were people waiting and that he could not help because he had a long queue at the bar (Which he did indeed have) We expected that she might come and seat us but instead she totally ignored us and walked off in the opposite direction, after a few more minutes we decided to seat ourselves. We sat in an area where most other people were seated to ensure we would be seen and we waited expectantly, but nobody came to serve us or ask if we would like to order anything so eventually we gave up and went and got the coffee pot for ourselves and served ourselves, one staff member saw me do this but didn't seem to have any grasp on what poor customer service was being provided. The breakfast itself was also poor, there were no beans left (It was before 10.00am) and only one very rubbery friend egg and nobody around to ask for replenishment. If Staff had been rushed off their feet serving other customers I would not be now writing this review, but aside from the young man serving behind the bar, staff were not rushed or busy, they just couldn't be bothered and didn't seem to have a grasp of what they ought to be doing. Nobody asked if we had enjoyed our stay when we left either so this is the first opportunity to share our experience. It's a great pity that there seems to be such a lack of direction, good management, and staff training in the breakfast room because this hotel is otherwise good.

Dear Deeprosefamily, thank you very much for your feed-back and for being a loyal customer. I'm really sorry to hear about your experience in our restaurant during breakfast. We normally tend to get very good feed-back from our breakfast on TripAdvisor but looking at your comments it seems that this time we did not get it right. Customer service is really important to us, we take it very seriously but on occasion we don't show our best performance. I have shared your comments with not only the restaurant team but also the rest of the hotel as this will help us improving what we don. I hope we will have the opportunity to welcoming you again. Best regards Ivan

A much delayed visit attending Euro 2020 at Wembley.

Not the best experience. Didn't find hotel staff that helpful when it came to options to try and give our guests some refreshments before leaving for the game. They were clear the bar wouldn't be open, didn't really offer nearby alternatives, and then when we were ready to leave decided they would open the bar.

Rooms were tired albeit the bed was comfortable and my large high floor club room might have provided some views on a nicer day. Despite being at the front of the hotel did not suffer any real road noise.

Breakfast was very basic for a Crowne Plaza and even the taxi company they use if you want a taxi back to the airport claimed they could only accept cash (when back at airport).

Finally other than proximity of Wembley I cannot think why I'd stay here is visiting London and the immediate area was nothing to write home about.

Dear Sleep007, thank you very much for taking the time to sharing your experience. I'm sorry to hear your stay wasn't as good as I could have been. Reading your comments I take that you were attending the England Game in Wembley. On that day everyone arrive very early and is true we did not realise people might want to go the bar before the game. When arrivals started asking we did the arrangements to open the bar as soon as we can but we should've thought about it before. We are used to events in Wembley but after such a long time we got caught off guard but we have learnt the lesson. I hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you again despite the experience not having being great this time. Best regards Ivan

We stayed at this property for the first time for 17 nights over the holidays. Our usual IHG property in Ealing had not reopened. We did not venture out in the immediate area but took Ubers to where we wanted to go. We loved our room and it was much bigger than the Holiday Inn Express room. Ask for a room on the back side, it was very quiet for us. Our room number was 326 and included one queen bed and a pull out sofa bed. It had a separate room with a closet , small refrigerator, desk, luggage rack, coffee/tea set up, and safe. The room with bed also had a desk and a dresser so that we could completely unpack our luggage. Large windows provided an excellent view. The heated towel bar and tub plus shower was a big plus. We never ate at the restaurant. You need to pay for parking. Our family came the first night and second nights to drop off food as we were waiting for COVID results and unfortunately got a big ticket! The front desk staff were very friendly and attentive for the most part, especially the women. Enjoyed sharing holiday candy I brought with them. Housekeepers did a great job. They brought in extra hangers as requested and kept the room tidy and clean. Even appreciated the good quality toilet paper and the very thick towels and good quality sheets and pillows. There is not a big lobby to hang out in. Gym is in good condition. Appreciated having one there. Wish there was a room in the hotel to do laundry. Also liked the quality of soap, shampoo and lotion. Think that is about it.

Booked online for 3 adults and 1 child. The room was a Junior Queen Suite that was spacious, had a bath tub with tv and a shower, a/c and small fridge.
The double bed was very wobbly to the point you could feel seasick with the slightest move and the sofa bed was just terrible.
The a/c was very noisy and the room TV had a weak signal, while the bathroom TV worked fine.
Breakfast was at 12.5GBP extra, even if you just wanted a toast and a cup of coffee and when we wanted to order room service the Reception would not reply so I had to go there and order. Some dishes on the menu were not available.
We did not show any discomfort and did not complain to the staff, but when we checked out we were not asked how was our stay and when we said goodbye we did not receive a reply, though in general the staff were not impolite, just seemed to not care as much as a 4-star hotel would require.
Hotel location is right across the street from Hanger Lane subway station (Central Line) which is convenient for travelling to central London.
I would not mind staying there again but it would not be my first choice.

Very basic, tired, old decor hotel. They do not topping up on daily basis toilet paper, water, teas, sugar etc. If you want more, you have to bring from reception.
Biggest disappointment was a breakfast; reheated basic sausages, microwave scramble eggs, oil-poached “fried eggs”, dry bacon. No trace of vegetables or even lettuce. Defrosted, stale danish and croissants. And one gentleman, probably manager, shouting across restaurant: tea! coffee!
Overall not worth £100/ night. Car park extra pay £18/day

As a Spire Elite member, I stay at IHG hotels on a regular basis.

The Crowne Plaza didn't disappoint, with a clean hotel and rooms, however one differentiation I look out for is customer services.
All staff at this hotel were very polite... Front of house, housekeeping, bar/restaurant. One person who provided an exceptionally good customer experience is Oksana (hope I spelt this correctly) who assisted with early check-in, room selection and local directions, all served with a smile
