Just returned from our second visit to the Kensington House Hotel which is very well located for visiting concerts/restaurants/guided tour at the Royal Albert Hall, excellent exhibitions at Kensington Palace, good walking through Hyde Park and food/drinks overlooking the Serpentine, shopping Kensington High Street/Harrods and a must visit to the Kensington Roof Gardens for food/drinks while enjoying wonderful views. Only...

The room was small but we did everything we wanted it to. The shower was pretty difficult to use as no shower curtain but for the one night was fine. Only one bathrobe too. Breakfast was great and location is great. Service was easy and great, Royal Albert Hall was about 5 mins away.

i found this little hotel on Safari. Lovely hotel, quaint and very clean. Easy walk to many venues. Employees very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. We stayed three nights prior to joining our bus tour. I would very much suggest staying here.

I have stayed here two times. Being a Virgo (natural born critique and perfectionist), that should tell you something. The location is perfect; you can walk to a busy shopping street within 5 minutes and a bus stop and train station are located nearby. Despite its service, location and the comfort, the price is incredibly reasonable in a London standard....

All in all a good find. The location is very good, with a couple of tube stations within a ten minute walk. The staff were very friendly. The room I had was pretty small, and the the shower tiny. Usual in room facilities, but unfortunately no air conditioning. The standard of decor and cleanliness is pretty good. Continental breakfast was...

A very well placed hotel within easy walking distance of the Royal Albert Hall, High Street, Kensington Palace and so the list goes on. Twin bedroom was fine, beds maybe a little hard however thats personal preference. Plenty of hot water and good size bathroom. Nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Public areas very clean...

We stayed here for 4 nights In August. The rooms are clean, comfortable & average size. Bathrooms slightly pokey but that is standard for UK/Europe. Hotel staff were all very helpful. Breakfast was lovely, with a nice range of pastries, cereals etc. you can also order from the menu & pay for eggs etc. fantastic location, across from Hyde Park......

Nice hotel for a business trip, but rooms are small. Beds are comfortible, bathroom clean and ok. Lot of Harry Potter like stairs. Very quiet hotel in really good neighbourhood .Few minutes by car to the City center. Lot of shops in the area, even a few nice pubs just a walk away. Ok price.

Chose this hotel because we wanted to go to some Prom concerts. Ideal location, 10 mins. walk from both Albert Hall and High St. Kensington tube station. Hotel about 100 yards down a side street from Kensington road, so some traffic noise from latter, but not excessive. Hotel decor bright & cheerful and spotlessly clean. Our double room was quite...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
