I spent a long time deciding which hotel to book as part of a trip to London to see the last night of the proms at Royal Albert Hall. This hotel was a flat and easy walk to the RAH and I was keen to have room with a view, as so many hotels in London have no view. This was the most ive ever paid for a London hotel room, but paying extra to get an executive room on the 24th floor really did make it a very memorable visit. The view from the room included Big Ben, London Eye and Shard. I could have sat on the window seat for hours taking in the view. Elsewhere; the executive lounge had a perfectly nice buffet hot and cold breakfast which was quiet and had plenty of choice. Whilst the decor in some areas of the hotel is not brand new, its perfectly fine, but maybe not 5*. In the room there was everything you could need, and it all looked clean. There was no noise from the street or from the other rooms or lifts. Knowing that other than staying at the Shard hotel you will struggle to get such a stunning room view, I will definitely stay here again to enjoy the view across London. If you like walking, you can get to the river, Covent Garden and Soho easily.

Hotel's Favourite
This is a fantastic Hilton hotel. The staff are excellent: professional, friendly and helpful. The whole hotel is well kept. Our room on the Executive floor had an extremely comfortable bed, great cupboard and wardrobe space and a spacious bathroom. The view over Hyde Park was the icing on the cake. The Exec Lounge is currently closed but the Podium Bar is being used instead. The selection of drinks and snacks was great. I used the gym - there is a good range of equipment including free weights. Breakfast had something for everyone and items available to order. Some of the best breakfast service we've experienced in terms of replenishment and cleanliness. The one niggle of our stay was that we booked a late check out, but our key cards expired not once, but twice. Reception staff resolved this, but it was a pain to return to our room after breakfast and find we couldn't get in and again when we returned to collect our bags shortly before the agreed check out time.

Following a poor experience here on our last visit we were offered an upgraded stay on our next visit. True to their word we were upgraded significantly to a Park Lane suite for our 2 night trip. The room was excellent with a lounge, plush bathroom, walk in wardrobe and large bedroom. The views of London from our dual aspect balcony and windows were fantastic. On my birthday they delivered wine, fruit and chocolates to the room. The executive lounge was also fully operational and we enjoyed some pre dinner drinks as well as coffee and snacks. I appreciate that our experience was not exactly a 'standard ' stay here with a normal room but I can only review the experience we had . This went a long way to compensate for the issues we had on our previous stay there, some of which were no fault of the hotel. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and our special thanks go to Valentina and Benny for all their efforts. Feel free to update my Honors account with free upgrades for life ! Here's hoping !

My return to this hotel post covid has confirmed the disaster. On my first visit (2 nights), the shower and the bath pipes were clogged and the water spread into the bathroom. Nobody fixed it the first day, so same issue the second day. On my second visit (4 nights), there was no cleaning of the room the first two days (I had to complain in the evening to get it done, and got the same exact message - likely a script), and towels had holes. The cleanliness is not there. There are bags of half eaten food left in the corridors all evening and night, and butts of cigarettes all around the entrance of the hotel. Omelettes in the morning is three ingredients only. Dot. I had to order two omelettes and mix them to have my four ingredients (cheese, ham, tomatoes, onions) . I wrote an email to the hotel reception and to its manager to complain, but received no answer. At 350 to 450 GBP a night, that says it all. They have just lost a diamond member. I will relocate to the Intercontinental next door for my future visits.

Lovely location and hotel is clean and modern. Good views for London. Much fancier hotels like Claridges and Mandarin don’t have the views. Small things not good like a ridiculous queue for breakfast and heavy handed security checks to see if you’re really a hotel guest wanting breakfast. They should fix this. Executive lounge has nice alcohol but canapés super cheap. Otherwise very nice hotel and staff.
