This hotel is often priced lower than many others in central London and there is a reason (actually more than a few). From lifts often out of service, or at least every time I have visited, to small, badly furnished, rooms and minuscule bathrooms which make undertaking basic ablutions a frustrating and uncomfortable experience to tv remotes that don't function...

Disgusted by the attitude of the bar member on the late shift tue 28 march. Not acknowledging us and then refusing to serve at 11pm saying we were too intoxicated. Having not consumed alcohol since 8pm due to attending a show at the royal Albert hall my partner and i were disgusted by the lack of professionalism, arrogance and downright...

I use IHG hotels a lot in London and I would not want to return to this hotel. As a platinum member of the IHG Rewards loyalty club I am usually given one, or a combination, of daily mineral water, newspaper, bathrobe, room upgrade etc. Nothing at this hotel however. More importantly, this was undoubtedly the smallest room I have...

Was expecting this hotel to be a pretty standard holiday inn like others I stayed in but I was very disappointed. My room was tiny. Barely 10cm between the bed and the wall to squeeze through. The bath was a bit manky and I had to muck about for ages to get hot water. I found the hair dryer eventually...

A long weekend in London where we stayed at Holiday Inn. That was a very nice hotel, located close to a underground station, so easy access to all "most visit places". The rooms was nice and clean, not big but big enough. Breakfast was really English and fantastic buffet. All in all good service.

Checked in for 2 nights as it was a birthday treat away. as I walked into reception there was a guest shouting a swearing at the manager claiming he was going to "Sue" him and make sure he wouldn't work there again. I just shrugged it off and thought it might've just been an angry customer. I put it down...

We've stayed at the Holiday Inn London Kensington (Formerly Kensington Close Hotel) several times over the years, and have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. If you join the Holiday Inn Rewards Club on-line you can get member room rates. Whilst the Holiday Inn London Kensington Hotel is in a great location for the Japanese Garden...

We booked this hotel for 4 nights and specifically asked for double bed which we never got. Upon arrival we asked the reception if we could have a nice room as we were there for a number of nights. When we got to the room there was only one strip of natural light, it was awful and dark. I telephoned...

Went to London with my husband and daughter to go to watch the Jersey Boys. My husband had booked everything as a surprise. The hotel is very clean and tidy. It does what it needs to - it's a nice base to get changed and sleep. It's close to Hyde park, and underground stations . Great area to walk around....

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
