We chose this hotel after reading reviews, and we're very pleased with our choice, an excellent room, very quiet and comfortable, with everything we required. The staff were all very polite and willing to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was very nice with attention from staff serving beverages, a good choice of breakfast, covering all needs. The bar staff...

A friendly welcome and a hand with the bag up the steps from the doorman promised a bit more than the hotel is able to deliver. A huge reception area with many self important "delegates" from various conventions has to be negotiated to reach the two tiny elevators, one of which always seems to be out of order. A trek...

My friend and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The location is good with tube and shops all in walking distance. The lobby is beautiful and welcoming, rooms are small but clean and comfortable. There is no free wifi in the rooms and the one in the lobby didn't work on most occasion or was very slow. I'm...

You do not get what you pay for at Kensington Close. My room was the size of a walk-in closet, the AC sounded like a drier with shoes in it, and Wifi was not included in the overpriced rate. A friendly staff could have made all of this slightly bearable but when I inquired about WiFi the evening duty supervisor...

Poky rooms, indifferent bland-faced staff that never smile. Staff is ALWAYS right, so be cafeful when agreeing to how many breakfasts your party needs, or similar, as you can be sure there is no flexibility towards you as a guest. In fact, the place resembles a large house of soulless ghosts !

Stayed here for a two night stay in London as have used this hotel over 10 years ago, in our opinion very much gone down hill. At check in at midday was told room wouldn't be ready until 3pm, had to freshen up in toilets after long journey most disappointed. The room was meant to be a double superior but...

Stopped here in September 2016. First impressions were really good. Bags brought into reception. Very polite staff. Easy to find the room. But when I went into the room, I thought I was given keys to the broom cupboard. I have stopped in many hotels in London including the one next to it but this was something else. One couple...

Overall the service was good although had to ask 3 times for breakfast cards to be delivered to the rooms, the heating did not work in one of the rooms and could not get maintenance to come - although a very kind and helpful staff member (who had come to unlock the interconnecting doors) did speak to the maintenance department...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
