Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the Royal Lancaster for 4 nights preceding our Eurostar journey to Paris for a Seine River cruise. Start to finish our experience was outstanding! The location borders Hyde Park, a beautiful green space setting, and is convenient to restaurants, pubs, shops, and is easily walkable to both Lancaster and Paddington tube stations. The reception staff is friendly and efficient, and the lobby is immaculate and welcoming. Our room was spacious, great bathroom and shower, and had a stellar view. Housekeeping is attentive and thorough, and refreshes room and restocks water, coffee, tea, and goodies daily. Elevators always seemed to be on express to our 11th floor room, a nice bonus! One of our biggest positive impressions was the daily included breakfast. An amazing buffet along with a made to order option is available for several hours each morning. Every imaginable breakfast item, along with some luxury specialties like smoked salmon, eggs Benedict, assorted gourmet cheeses, and of course sausages and breakfast meats are tastefully arranged and presented. Each day we were seated promptly despite how busy they were and coffee was poured right away. We never felt rushed. The breakfast team managed by Victoria is one of the hardest working and efficient staff we've ever seen, and they made it look effortless and seamless. Well done! Take advantage of their concierge service, they were experts in helping us - as first-time London visitors - plan our days, book our tickets, and find the best quaint and nearby restaurant right across the street The Stablehand - excellent beer and menu! Can't summarize any better than to say our experience at the Royal Lancaster from doorman to check-out was deluxe. We highly recommend! Book it!

Hotel's Favourite
Excellent hotel with exceptionally high service. We had adjoining rooms for our family of six, and had a wonderful stay next to Hyde park in London. Room service for the kids was a fun experience (pizza, fish goujons, spaghetti bolognese, chicken nuggets), and the adults enjoyed dinner and drinks in the hotel restaurant.
Morning breakfast was great. A superior English breakfast buffet, with fresh hot toast, local preserves, and hot coffee delivered table side. Serving staff was very accommodating and helpful with my 1 and 3 year olds.
Thank you to the entire hotel staff and management! Especially Alex, Candy, the entire Park Restaurant morning staff, and the hardworking engineers and housekeeping staff who keep this place clean, and running in tip top shape. Well done.

We had booked 2 Deluxe View connecting rooms. The rooms have a beautiful view, are nicely decorated and are really comfortable for London (we have had very, very much smaller rooms in London before). The connecting doors were so well sealed that absolutely no noise penetrated, which was very pleasant.
The hotel is right on Hyde Park and all the attractions are within easy reach.
What really blew us away was the breakfast. Not only is there a fantastic buffet, with everything your heart desires. You can also order a plate dish every morning from the breakfast menu, such as Eggs Royal, pancakes, waffles and much more.
The staff is very friendly and helpful; in the area there are good opportunities to go out for dinner at good value for money.
Overall a very nice stay and certainly not the last time we stayed at Royal Lancaster.

Frequented about ten years ago, I found the Royal Lancaster in the 5 star category. They are legitimate. Doorman and porter welcome you with a smile. The light wood and matte gold decoration gives a soothing and harmonious atmosphere to this hotel. The rooms are small but the optimization of space is remarkable. The minibar is empty and can be replenished on request. The water is offered in the form of a carafe refilled at the tap. It must be admitted that it is very good and easily replaces mineral water. Upgraded to a Deluxe room, we enjoyed a beautiful view and Nespresso. Very beautiful and practical bathroom. White Compagnie products are of high quality and in large distributors. The hotel offers a smartphone application allowing you to open the room door with your phone, but the irregularity of the WiFi connection made us prefer the physical card. There is no evening room service, however the housekeeping is impeccable. Finally, breakfast is like a brunch, in addition to the buffet you have, included, a menu of dishes prepared to order. At the end of the stay, the voluntary service contribution of 5% is offered and deserved by faultless service. Note that we took the taxi daily, there was always one parked in front of the hotel. An excellent address.

The Royal Lancaster London receives high marks for its exceptional service, with staff members frequently commended for their professionalism and the personalized care they provide. Its opulent atmosphere, complete with exquisite Christmas decor, is often highlighted . While the rooms are lauded for their comfort and views, some guests note they could benefit from updates.
The central location is a crowd-pleaser, offering convenient access to London's top attractions. However, opinions on value for money are mixed, with some travelers finding it overpriced despite the luxurious amenities and spotless cleanliness.so I want thank Head Concierge Sebastian for everything and big thanks to the best Doorman Amr funny and professional

Everything about the hotel is exemplary, this is an exceptional hotel and I had an amazing experience. I would highly recommend it to others. The staff were friendly, kind, courteous and thoughtful wherever I came across them. The room was spotless, the little details were special from having a hand written note from the General Manager to the special table I was offered as a solo female guest in the restaurant and the doorman who took my room key and got me a taxi so I could get off in time to catch my train. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel so special.

A luxury hotel in the heart of London a 5 min walk from Paddington Station and Hyde Park. But the best feature was the staff courteousness and attentiveness. We were a family of three adults and booked a room accordingly. What amazed us was that not only did we get an early check in but the room was made up for three already including beds, glasses, towels and even bathrobes. Usually in other hotels we would have had to request for extra for at least 2 of these. Special mention to the housekeeping staff to have maintained absolutely clean rooms and immaculate preparation. The breakfast was awesome and since our son had to leave early in the morning they served his breakfast in the room ( for a nominal charge). That was especially great! The staff at the breakfast section were extremely attentive and responsive. We had a marvellous experience. The door person was helpful, and extremely alert, always ready to help with the luggage or taxis.

Family suite perfection! This was my second stay but first with the family for vacation. We booked a family classic suite which is two adjoining rooms for a family of four. The rooms are smaller but expertly designed with storage and layout for all your needs. Bathrooms are a not small at all. The property location is excellent for family vacations with immediate proximity to the tube but also in a slightly more quiet neighborhood for more relaxation and strolls to local restaurants. Critically, it is extremely convenient walk to Paddington for the Heathrow Express.
The staff are tremendous with special recognition to the breakfast staff, housekeeping, and front desk. They treat everyone as a luxury hotel but in a relaxed and non-snobby manner.
The rooms are immaculately cleaned - SPOTLESS! The beds are a bit firm which is my personal preference.
The breakfast buffet is extremely comprehensive, efficient, delicious, and included in rate for members.
During check-in, we requested one of the beds be converted to two twin beds (for our children’s room). Which they offered to immediately resolve by sending housekeeping to make the switch. We were not in the rooms five minutes when staff turned up to change the bed layout and then they left silently five minutes later. Very impressive!
Another guest above us caused some flooding in the bathroom. We were quickly sorted out by being moved to another family suite of same caliber within 30 minutes. It was a quite an ordeal for the staff but all handled with grace and minimal disruption to us.
The property is very family friendly (as witnessed at breakfast with a decent number of children) but also hosted multiple evening black tie galas on first floor.
Overall, this is a luxury caliber hotel with excellent value for the price charged.

This was my first time staying at the Royal Lancaster, I was actually attending a work event in their hotel that evening. The staff were very helpful and courteous on check in. Although the room was a little on the small side for the price, I can honestly say it was an excellent stay. The room was well appointed with plug sockets, mirrors, iron and ironing board etc. The bed was sooooo comfortable, I slept like a baby! The bathroom had great toiletries and the AC worked well (I have stayed in so many hotels where the AC is just rubbish!). I'm a creature of habit, so when I'm in London I normally stay in the same two or three hotels and have never considered the Royal Lancaster... but I will from now on. Would definitely recommend!

You know you are at a high end hotel from the moment you walk into the lobby.
The room was spotless with all the amenities that you could need and then some, including a fridge, hot water and expresso maker. Bathroom was a decent size with a very good shower and water pressure as well as always had hot water. Bed was very comfortable with soft sheets and great pillow. I loved the day and night shades to allow light in and total blackout privacy. Housekeep staff were very pleasant and paid attention to detail. I used the laundry service for two pairs of pants and they were hung in my closet by the time I returned at night and nicely pressed.
The hotels location is excellent to get to from Heathrow (Elizabeth line to Paddington) and being a couple of minutes to the entrance of the tube for the Central Line means you can get anywhere in Central London quickly and cost efficiently.
Breakfast was simply superb! One of the best breakfast buffets I've ever had and I already look forward to having again. Very good choice of hot and cold items as well as selections from around the world (American, Asian, French, etc). Staff at breakfast were excellent - very friendly and removed plates/ rubbish very quickly, which doesn’t happen everywhere especially in London.
All in all, a really great stay and I will certainly return (even if it means loosing status nights at an American branded hotel)!
One tip - definitely sign up to the hotels “Friends of the Royal Lancaster” via their website. You get a cheaper price (my boss paid more for the same nights and I had a higher floor upgrade room), but most importantly the best of all breakfast complimentary. Definitely worth a couple of minutes of your time to sign up!

Dear Zoe,
Thank you for your question. It depends a bit on the time of year, but generally our Lounge Bar is mostly a nice relaxing place to have a drink (or two!) at night, rather than a destination bar. I hope that answers your question; if there is anything else I can do to help personalise your stay, please do not hesitate to message me directly.
Kind Regards,
