After reading the reviews of this hotel I was quite scared. When we arrived at the hotel, we foun out it was not at all that bad. The hotel is located within a minute's walk from the Notting Hill Gate station, so the location is perfect. The check-in was quick and OK, we were then given the keys. After taking...

The first impression was one of disgust. The bathroom was dirty with mould everywhere and a patch job of grouting. The toilet needed a bottle of bleach to clean the stains. The bed was very lumpy and we couldn't sleep. Windowsills hadn't been cleaned for a very long time. No tea making facilities.

Let me start off by saying that after having read these reviews for the first time, i was almost traumatized. The only reason why I ended up going in the first place was because my best friend had already booked our room. At any rate, my first impression of the staff was that they were quite courteous and friendly, inviting...

Don't even think about staying here! No more to be said. Checked in - saw the room - checked out! Words can not describe how bad this is.

No Frills is a compliment. Arrived and indicated upon check-in that we are in a hurry to get to an appointment, check-in was very very very slow. The lift is totally scary and only had space for 1 person with a small bag - should have told us to rather take the stairs, less effort and time. Got to the...

The hotel is very old and tired. My room, although large, smelt very musty. The duvet cover has stains on it. The heating and hot water wern't working - eg no hot showers and cold. The rooms and place doesn't feel like it has been decorated since the 1970s. Positive is the location and friendly ish staff. Better to pay...

As we walked up to this beautiful hotel, I would have never expected the horrors that lay within. I said to my friend, 'well there are Mercedes parked outside so it can't be that bad'. How wrong I was. The check in process was straight forward, and the trip to the room resulted in my friend being momentarily trapped in...

The hotel is not so bad. When I read the reviews, I was quite scared. But I wanted to make a budget trip to London and did not wat to stay in the 6th zone. The staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were basic, but they are cleaning them requlary - I saw the cleaning ladies every day. Breakfast was...

I never saw a worst hotel. It was dirty, old and everything was broken. The toilet was dirty an I had problems to open and close the door too. Really indecent! I stayed only the first night, then I requested to have my money back and changed hotel.

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
