Let me start this review off by listing all the positives about this property: 1.) The location. It's in a posh residential neighborhood, situated between two tube stations and an Overground station. It's within easy walking distance of grocery stores, cafes and restaurants. Best of all, it's a few blocks from the massive Westfield shopping mall, which sells anything a... More

Thank you so much for your review. We are so glad you listed both pros and cons as I feel other travellers will benefit from reading your feedback. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We agree with your points on the bed. When we bought the mattresses we were assured they would break in and be comfortable in... More

Everything about the place is very acceptable except the bed . One can hardly imagine a harder bed to sleep on and the pillows are also below my acceptable standard. Stayed for 4 restless nights resulting in super sore back. So be aware: if you like sleeping on cement like bed, you might be happy with the rest which is... More

Dear Sabina Thank you for your review. It is very helpful to receive constructive feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the stay on the whole. Apologies about the too hard bed. It is important for us that guest have a comfortable stay. We would have happily supplied a mattress topper and even an additional duvet under the sheet to soften... More

This is my second time at St James House apartments and unfortunately it will be my last - Next time it will be Airbnb. You can't fault the location, so convenient to the tube, buses and such a lovely location but the management of the apartments needs to improve dramatically to beat a well chosen Airbnb apartment. On arrival there... More

Positives first: We stayed in room 7, which looks lovely, it's in a great location, the room was very modern and clean and tastefully decorated. Unfortunately the bed spoilt it for us. It was a brick hard memory foam bed and my poor body ached all night on it. The TV was also far too small and difficult to watch... More

The bad: - The windows - The bed - No international adaptator From the first floor, people in the building across the street can see you. The appartement (#8 the one with bright green wall) as no curtain just big blind that cut all natural light when it's done to have some privacy. The bed was not the most sweat... More

Stayed in Apt 5 - basic facilities, small TV, not sprung mattress, flat pillows, linen could have been whiter, stuffy because if you open windows it is way too noisy. Definite no, no if it is hotter weather as no air-con. Convenient location - close to Overground and Underground at Shepherd's Bush [6-8 minute walk], good shower, good quality towels... More

The place is complete. It is near the Underground. It is clean. It has a kitchen, with utensils and cookwares. Maybe the only issue that we have is you hear noise from cars as it is beside a highway. Overall, great stay. Would stay here again if given the chance.

It was a mistake booking these apartments in spite of bad feedbacks on Tripadvisor. Almost everything in the room and hotel was made to make your staying absolutely uncomfortable: very poor room with cheap and old furniture, tiny bathroom, small TV, awful matress and pillows, and loud noise from the street. Moreover, when I've checked-in, the linen on the bed... More

We stayed at the apartment number 5 for 5 days on November. The location was good: calm neighborhood, well located. The apartment was clean, the heating and hot water were excellent, there was a wooden floor on the room and floor tile on the bathroom and we liked that very much (we didn't want wall-to-wall carpet!!!!). We have been very... More

I read reviews before going and saw that there was a problem with the mattresses being to hard. I thought that they couldn't be that bad but they were. The replies from staff to these reviews were that they were new etc but even two years down the line they will be the same. I loved the room but will... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
