We asked the hotel receptionist to call a taxi at 4:30 in the morning to take my mother to the airport at a fixed price. A man appeared in a car and instead of taking my mother to the airport gave her a very long drive around London, apparently lost ...and left my mother at another site near the airport...

Ended up here for 1 night after my original reservation was cancelled by accident and this was the closest hotel to my location the booking agent could find. Hotel is close to tube. Plenty of shops, pubs and cafes nearby which is good because the less time you spend in this hotel the better. I was in a single room...

We booked this hotel because it was reasonably central and close to a tube station so we could spend the evening in central London. Parking was a bit of an issue and we ended up a 15 minute walk away. The photos on here unfortunately make it look better than it is. Not being a negative person I am struggling...

This hotel is disgusting the worst by far!!!! The rooms are extremely tiny its shocking I only stayed here as all the hotels in London were fully booked on the 9th July as London was very busy in that period. The room was £75 per night and if u wanted 2 people in the room you had to pay an...

Stayed at this hotel just for one night in London before i shifted to the Holiday Inn. This is a small hotel with just around 50 rooms. London being very expensive, i booked this hotel because the tariff was 110 pounds a night. However, the rooms were very small for my comfort. The bathroom was dirty once i checked in...

We were almost put off staying here because of the bad reviews however the staff were polite and helpful, the room whilst on the small side was spotless and even though we were at the front of the hotel we weren't bothered by traffic noise. Breakfast was a bonus! Conveniently located and at a good price we would stay here...

This hotel is rather good value for money. We lived in a new/modernized part of the hotel, nice quite and clean room, good location in West London close to shopping, museums etc. Internet in the lobby/breakfast area.

On arrival the receptionist (who i believe could be the managers daughter) was rude and spoke to us like children, she was the one with the language barrier not us! We were not shown to our room (which was in the basement). We had to drag our suitcases down a horror movie starcase or squish into the tiniest lift in...

Good price & location (close to tube, shopping street (High Street Kensington), wi-fi in the room for free BUT very small room, and this smell of never renovated walls and bathroom. Quite noisy if the window is from the road side. Not amasing, but for two nights is too much (1 night you can manage - close everywhere).

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
