Just returned from a 3 night stay at Rubens at the Palace and what an amazing hotel. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. The hotel is in a great location opposite Buckingham Palace and our stay was in a King room where I have to say " the bed was so big and comfortable!" Everything at The Rubens is top notch but it is the staff that have made our stay so special and memorable. Everyone from Tony " the doorman " with his cheerful manner and friendly banter to the lobby staff who were so helpful on arrival to all at reception and in the dining room especially Eilish and Riley who attended to us at breakfast. We really feel the staff go above and beyond to the point of returning to our room after a long day out taking in some of the tourist attractions to be surprised by a bottle of wine on ice and a card signed by all of the staff as a birthday gift for my husband Brian. We really were made to feel like VIP's arriving feeling warmly welcomed and leaving feeling what an exceptional experience we've just had. All down to the staff. Thank you Chris & Brian from Liverpool.

Hotel's Favourite
We went for Afternoon Tea the day before both mine and the wife's birthday's and what is also our wedding Anniversary and the the whole experience was excellent. We booked it as the chefs had been on a TV programme that we had watched and their food looked superb. On arrival, we were a bit early, but quickly seated and given a very warm welcome and drinks poured. The food quickly came out and looked great and so it proved on eating!! As it was a special occasion, we had opted for the Bottomless Champagne Afternoon Tea and Ioana was tending our table and was an absolute star, always making sure we had a top up and that all was okay. Sue particularly enjoyed the chocolate moose crown!! Thanks to all the team - we had a lovely relaxed and enjoyable couple of hours.

Afternoon tea after a visit to the palace. Fred Spencer serving is a superstar, although all the staff are excellent but Fred really stands out. He kept the champagne topped up! Food is great and the whole experience is great. In a competitive market well worth the money

It is the people at The Rubens who make a stay here so fantastic. From the moment you walk in the door the reception and lobby staff are pleasant, helpful and friendly. You are made to feel welcomed and appreciated. In the restaurant it is the same. The staff recalls your name and what your preferences might be. The beds are comfortable, the food is delicious. The location is within walking distance of so many things. Buckingham Palace is across the street, the West End theatres around the corner. There are array of nice shops if you need a gift or two right on the block. If you need to go further, a cab can be arranged. I enjoyed every bit of my stay here and would not hesitate to return. Thank you for making my stay in London so enjoyable!

Loved this hotel. It was close to shopping, dining, Broadway type shows, and even Buckingham Palace. The on-site breakfast is top notch and the afternoon tea service is not to be missed. The staff here goes above and beyond, and Mohamoud is a jewel of an employee and provides out-of-this world customer service. Wish we could have stayed longer.

I only popped in for a drink between visiting the Royal Mews and Buckingham Palace, but what a lovely, elegant venue, fitting for it's proximity to Buckingham Palace. You arrive and doors are opened for you. You get advised of your waiters name. They are respectful of your time to view the menu. Bring well presented, tasty cocktails, accompanied by water (just as well as we were starting early). It was very quiet as it was rather early for drinking, and before any lunch rush. The staff were so polite and looked very smart. Mohammed chatted to us and made friendly conversation. Toilets were clean and well maintained. Would definitely return if I was in the area again!

On our day trip to Buckingham Palace we met these pair of delightful gentlemen. What a refreshing change to hear some good old fashion banter and humour. They were happy to have photos taken and really made our visit to London complete. Unfortunately we didn’t get to sample the delights of the hotel but if it’s anything like Pascal and Tony then it will be 1st class. I hope the senior management are reading this and will pass on our thanks and would definitely come back just to see Tony and Pascal , great work gents you are a breath of fresh air 🇬🇧

Oh my goodness - where do I begin? Booked The Rubens for our son's 11th birthday present, visiting London for the very first time. We chose this hotel due to the many articles and reviews we read stating that The Rubens was the best hotel in London for children - and they weren't wrong! We couldn't have chose better for our son. The staff were all absolutely amazing with him; he was genuinely treated like a VIP and he loved every second of it! From the beautiful cake left for him in our room, to the wonderful pastry experience that is included in the price, The Rubens consistently went above and beyond to ensure our son's stay was the best he could have. My only gripe is that the room was very small with a disappointing view of a small, grubby courtyard and other rooms. The restaurants, bars, room service etc were all too expensive to eat at. We promised our son a hot chocolate in the room but at £8 for the drink and a £7.50 tray charge we just couldn't justify it. We also couldn't justify breakfast, as it was £30 pp. However, the customer service was just so amazing, the hotel beautiful and the location absolutely perfect that we will definitely be returning. Thank you for creating so many amazing memories for our family :) see you soon!
