Have stayed here before and been very happy with this inexpensive (I paid £72/night) yet high quality hotel. Rooms are small, but great. Some rooms have recently been completely re-done and I just stayed in one of their renovated ones. Wow! Really good use of a small space. Finished to a high standard. Good breakfast too and wifi included.

The Arosfa is a fairly small family run hotel in a reasonably quiet typical North London street, conveniently close to the British Museum. The attic family suite with two bedrooms a kitchenette and ample space proved to be a super base for our family of 5 (at that time 3 boys of 15, 13 and 9) to discover London from....

The service provided at Arosfa exceeded our expectations. We didn't expect to receive such personalised service. Attila and Tessa really went the extra mile to make sure that we were well taken care of. If you're looking for more than just a place to rest, Arosfa is definitely the place to choose. What you'll get there is more than just...

We just spent a week in London at the Arosfa. What a great hotel: clean, comfortable, delicious breakfast, helpful and welcoming staff (Attila and Tessa are wonderful), great location. Next time we're in London we will definitely stay at the Arosfa; can't wait to go back!

As the last hotel of my UK trip, I was understandbly rather tired. But as soon as I entered, I was welcomed by a friendly operator, who immediately made me feel at home. And throughout my three days I was always greeted with a smile and welcome whenever I went to breakfast, left for the day, and came back. The...

We stayed at Arosfa for the 2nd time with our 3 children. We had a nicely decorated and spacious apartment for 6 with a small kitchen on the top floor (3rd). The beds are comfortable, breakfast is excellent, the location more than convenient (3 minutes walk from the Goodge Street tube station), and the people who work there are absolutely...

It is the second time we stayed at Arosfa! Attila and Tessa are really friendly and kind, and made the stay at Arosfa perfect. The room was perfect for our family, the location is great, the breakfast is really good and the beds are comfortable. We will choose Arosfa the next time we visit London again.

Arosfa was the perfect hotel for my first trip to London! Tessa and Nicholas (as well as all the people who work there) are the warmest, kindest, most helpful people I've ever met! I've traveled all over the US for work and fun and am self sufficient, but because of health problems, was a little anxious traveling overseas w/ a...

The welcome, decor, helpfulness and warmth of the hotel could not be faulted. My son and I had a twin room on the top floor which was small - which we expected and was not a problem for a single night. The beds were very comfortable. The en-suite was tiny and although it was fine for one night I wouldn't...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Arosfa Hotel is a refurbished 200-year old Georgian Town House in the heart of historic Bloomsbury district, the former home of the famous Pre-Raphaelite artist Sir John Everett Millais. The cool white garden squares and wide streets of Bloomsbury have been a pull to thinkers for centuries, and it sometimes seems like every second house has a blue plaque denoting that a great writer, scientist or philosopher once inhabited the building. It was in Bloomsbury that Karl Marx created communism, Virginia Woolf defined the twentieth century British novel, and Charles Darwin first conceived the theory of natural selection. The imposing bulk of the British Museum, home to seven millennia of human art and artefacts, dominates the area, and there are plenty of other academic institutions including Birkbeck College, the beautiful University of London Library, and RADA, London's grandest drama school. ... more   less
