My 2 friends and myself stayed at the hotel for 1 night after a friend reccomended it to us! We were very impressed from start to finish...firstly an extremely warm, friendly and efficient welcome, which was just the beginning of the wonderful hospitality, nothing was a problem and not mentioning the fab breakfast where yet again nothing was too much...

We booked via a booking portal and stayed at the Arosfa for 3 nights. The room itself (on the top floor) was pretty nice but far too small for 3 people. Two of us shared a double bed that was suitable for one. My husbands legs were too long for the other bed. The small bathroom is an real experience...

Its only a small hotel, but it does the job, especially for a single traveller looking for somewhere to sleep comfortably and at an affordable price. Lovely hosts make you feel very welcome and are exceptionally helpful (including getting my room ready early which was bliss after a very tiring 24 hours flying). Nice breakfast as well. I stayed in...

We were a group of 3 down for 4 days / 3 nights for a shopping trip. We found the hotel in a good location, the welcome and staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. The room was ideal for our needs and clean with en-suite adequate. Breakfast int the morning was 5 star - lots on offer and the...

I shall leave it to others to make comment on the facilites of the hotel. For me to be perfectly honest a bed is well just that a bed! However, I know these things are very important to most other people and so I will just say everything at the hotel was of the highest standard including the breakfast in...

I have stayed here a couple of times and each time had a wonderful stay, with friendly hosts and very clean rooms. The breakfast was great - the hostess even went to the extra trouble of cooking some black pudding for my Mum, as it is one of her favourites. The rear courtyard garden is also delightful on a warm day....

We were greeted very warmly by Tessa and instantly felt at home! Comfortable lounge with tv, tea and coffee facilities and free internet use. Reasonable size room with ensuite tiny shower, loo and wash basin but felt this was excellant value considering the impersonal hotel I had stayed in just three weeks earlier for the same money. The breakfast was...

Communication was fine, as we were arriving after 10pm, we had notified the hotel of this. Hotel lobby looked fine but did get a huge shock when saw the twin room on offer. Now I am OK with Japan-tiny and compact bathroom quarters however, nothing I had experienced up to that point could prepare me for a cubicle so minute...

Clean, comfortable, valuable, friendly, well-decorated, small and personable hotel with good location. This was our first stay at this hotel, after being guests at the neighbouring Arran House for several years. But Arran House has lost all it charm after changes in management, so we needed to find a new hotel. We have no regrets choosing Arosfa. We will definately...

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Arosfa Hotel is a refurbished 200-year old Georgian Town House in the heart of historic Bloomsbury district, the former home of the famous Pre-Raphaelite artist Sir John Everett Millais. The cool white garden squares and wide streets of Bloomsbury have been a pull to thinkers for centuries, and it sometimes seems like every second house has a blue plaque denoting that a great writer, scientist or philosopher once inhabited the building. It was in Bloomsbury that Karl Marx created communism, Virginia Woolf defined the twentieth century British novel, and Charles Darwin first conceived the theory of natural selection. The imposing bulk of the British Museum, home to seven millennia of human art and artefacts, dominates the area, and there are plenty of other academic institutions including Birkbeck College, the beautiful University of London Library, and RADA, London's grandest drama school. ... more   less
