We have stayed at the Tavistock several times as the location is ideal for our needs. It's a short walk to Russell Square & the Piccadilly line. The walk to Euston Station is also convenient. The hotel rooms are small, but clean. A continental breakfast is provided altho' one can choose to pay for the larger English one.

Stayed with my daughter, room 438 was an average size, clean with good facilities. We experienced no noise at all. Continental breakfast was very limited and you had to pay an extra £5 for cooked food, which we didn't cause we were happy with cereal and toast. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again as it was only...

The hotel is very well located in London center, near 3 metro stations. The rooms are very big and simple. The place is a bit old and the breakfast has no variety. Since it is a big hotel with only 2 elevatores, in the morning its dificult to catch a elevator. The wifi is free and good.

This year we had room 323, a corner front room with a bay window, a nice room. Some changes this year, one good, one bad in our opinion. The nice surprise was the choice of either Jacques Restaurant for the included first night meal, or the Indian meal now being served in the dining room, and the dining room had...

Have stayed in this hotel before. Pros: central location and convenience to public transportation. Clean and well-maintained rooms. Excellent price. Cons: very noisy for two reasons: a lot of street level noise, so you'll hear pub-goers and restaurant goers until fairly late at night. The second reason is that walls are very thin, so you'll hear your neighbor watching TV,...

Great location. Clean, adequate hotel. Dated decor and limited breakfast (no pastries or yoghurt) and breakfast room very busy at peak times. Very affordable and popular with British guests....

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
