Spent 2 nights with English breakfast. The hotel is convenient for Kings Cross station being a 10 minute walk. Check in was quick and pleasant and our room was clean and large enough. The hotel is convenient for buses in to Trafalgar Square. The bar in the hotel is pleasant and wifi there and in reception is ok. Breakfast is...

I stayed here for one night while on a business trip to London. I've normally stayed in the (cheaper) County Hotel which is close by, but it can be very noisy, and having a quiet room with en-suite facilities was important for this trip. I can confirm that my room was quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the...

I don't think the average American will ever feel like they got a great deal for a hotel in London, based on what is available, price and the weak dollar. We love the $69 internet deal for a chain hotel in the states and that just isn't much of an option in a major European city. That said, The Tavistock...

We stayed in the Tavistock for three nights mid September this year and found it very convenient to all places of interest. It was good value, clean and pleasant staff. Not luxurious but ideal for people who are on business or sightseeing all day. Buffet breakfast was satisfactory with quick and efficient service.

First thing, take your own shampoo etc. The only thing the hotel provides is small packets of solid soap. The hot water was plentiful though. My room on the 6th floor was ludicrously warm. No wifi in the room, old CRT TV, with a slim selection of channels, skinny towels. No hairdryer. Everything about this place screams budget hotel. I'm...

I made the on line booking with tavistock hotel and phoned the customer services to follow up with my booking, quoting my booking number and yet, I was told that they do not have any record of my booking. This is unacceptable as my guests were arriving the next day. Please make sure that the people that man the phone...

We have stayed in this hotel 2 days in September. We didn't book this hotel ourselves. After 1 horrible hour in the hotel we have booked over our agency, they moved us to this hotel. The rooms were just fine for a short trip, WIFI was for free, but a bit annoying to always get a code at the reception. Breakfast...

We had room 207 on the second floor at the front. The room was very warm but clean and the beds were very comfortable. We heard the noise on the street but were so shattered after a day exploring London that we had no trouble sleeping. The bathroom was clean with a great shower and plenty of hot water however...

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
