all was good except there was a huge school trip from America which made breakfast noisy and crowded. The rooms were a bit stuffy and they can use sheets on their bed as well as a quilt as the rooms were overly warm. Also they need paper towels in the bathrooms.

Dear kimpedler, We sometimes have groups from all over the world stay with us for different types of reasons mostly education. I can imagine that the noise from this group was probably excitement and eager to get their day started exploring the city. At this time of year tyhe weather can be warm to cold and our heating system is...

Its not 5* but I have to say great staff and service. We had two doubles with on suite, both good. Cooking facilities good and very well placed for London visit. Only issue, WiFi not great once you leave the lounges. But overall, I'd be very happy to go there again! Thank you!

Dear Gelert88, Thank you for your review and I will pass your comments to our team here about the service you received. Yes we do have our own self catering kitchen located in the basement with everything you need to cook with. We have just recently swapped over our WI-FI provider and a few glitches are expected. I still like to find my inner student when coming into London on certain types of visit. The beds are firm, the linen crisp and clean and the staff are always friendly. Thameside has hot bar food available throughout the day, a basic restaurant and a great value lounge bar. It is secure and well located for public transport: bus...

Dear ChapInAKilt, I am glad that we have helped bring out that inner student in you while you visited London. We have just had the beds updated to more modern and comfy ones with their own USB and sockets attached to the beds. We do have a bar that serves up until 2am most nights. There is alot of history...

on my visit I stayed in a two person private room, the rooms are basic but good although they are looking a little tired and the shower was not very good. I didn't have any problem with noise from outside.

We stayed in a family room, with bunks (two bunks of three, which was a little claustrophobic). There was a good kitchen and lounge, a bar and restaurant, and very friendly staff. The room was ensuite but the shower was rubbish - it basically sprayed everywhere except on the person standing below it. We walked into London along the Thames...

Last time I stayed at a YHA place I think I was in my 20s cycling round West Highlands of Scotland. 30 years on and we came down to visit our daughter and thought we'd give YHA a try. Well - what have we missed..? Great place to stay, convenient, welcoming (even of old fogy's). From checking in on line...

It offers exactly what every hostel should, but no more than that. Some of the amenities are nice, such as bedside USB ports & lights, a great breakfast for 6 pounds (Aug 2016), free wi-fi, a reasonable bed and the staff was very helpful. But like any hostel it has its drawbacks. No AC made it difficult to sleep in...

I stayed in a 12-person bedroom with two toilets and two shower rooms. It was adequate.
