Small, but nicely done. There’s no keys, they send you a numerical code that opens the door from the street and your room door. The coffee bar in the lobby was very convenient. It’s a bit of a walk from paddington station, especially if you just got off a 10hr flight and your family is mad that they have to walk. The staff was very nice and helped us with some recommendations. I like this hotel, I would probably stay again. The trains going by was a little loud, but we were on the 5th floor so I think it could have been worse.
We were only staying 1 night, we received the check in instructions with the front door and room code. When we arrived there were actually staff on the desk which we hadn’t expected but they were lovely and friendly and directed us to the lift for our room. The room was lovely, modern, clean and bright. There was a lovely seating area in the entrance and a bar which looked like you could get coffee. On checkout in the morning, there were staff on the front desk again and there looked to be fresh pastries and coffee available but we had an early train so didn’t ask about it. It was our 1st time staying in a Sonder, we will definitely stay again.
The hotel was beautifully decorated and the facilities were top notch. I especially like the chilled sparkling water available 24/7. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was great for a low key visit to London and with access to lots of boutique cafes and Kensington Gardens it was exactly what we were after.
I loved staying in this hotel: the location is just perfect, it's very clean inside and the staff is friendly and responsive. I would suggest it for business trips as the environment offers you everything you need to feel yourself comfortable and organised.
Bad, would not recommend. I am going to talk about why. I booked 4 nights in this hotel because of (a) the good reviews from other travellers and (b) the beautiful facade as portraited in photos. First impression is, this is a hipster hotel where you are required to self check-in. It says it would only take 8 minutes but it took more than 20 minutes to get things right. Second impression, as well as my last impression, is that this hotel is not under professional management, both in terms of amenities and services. On the second night, I started hearing strange banging noises from the bathroom (it was so loud I thought somebody was breaking in). It seems to come from the water tank of the toilet. Then in the early morning, more strange noises came from the pipes under the sink and the pipes connected to the drain of the shower. Then eventually, water (probably dirty ones) started back flowing from the shower drain. The water overflew from the shower, then to the bathroom and eventually to the bedroom!!! We had to evacuate our room, but unfortunately some of our stuff still got wet from the dirty water. The hotel staff was notified and proceeded to arrange another room for us. We got a room, but the staff told us that we are "lucky" to have an available room, but they might request us to move to another room tomorrow. This is a totally awful conversation to have after what we have been through. Like are you kidding me? This is all you got to say after the pipes broke? One last thing is, I ordered a coffee from the cafe on Ground Floor because I was so exhausted by all of these drama. Then the hotel staff said they cannot offer me the coffee for free, despite all these troubles. I was shocked. Then later my partner went to talk to them, because even then, he got angry. It was not until then that the hotel staff said that is because the hotel and the cafe are two separate businesses. Still, the reaction from the hotel staff is beyond comprehension. The hotel room is in general quite bare. There are no face tissues (despite it being 4-star), no fridge, no cleaning services (or you have to pay like 100 pounds for a cleaning). It is really basic in terms of amenities and services. It just made me feel like living in a hostel. I bet even a hostel would not have exploded pipes and grumpy staff.…
Loved this hotel. Check-in & check-out so seamless. Room was perfect size with all the necessary amenities (including all BBC channels). Fixtures & fittings were new & bathroom was modern. Loved the shower especially. Excellent find.
Perfect location for a visit to the Royal Albert Hall. Great communication, friendly staff, scrupulously clean, comfortable double bed and a lovely shower. A nice, residential area with a super pub close by too.
The staff were friendly when I asked for help, and the room was new, stylish and clean. I like the contactless check-in and check-out system because I am introverted. In general, I enjoy staying at Sonder, and I will probably consider staying at Sonder again when I travel.
This was the perfect place for my first trip to London. The lobby is beautifully decorated and a lovely place to relax while you wait for your room. There is also a small cafe serving coffee and pastries during the day. There’s also a tap with filtered water to fill up your water bottle. The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. The room itself was small but very cosy and comfortable, with an extra large single bed that had plush linen. There was also usb points beside the bed which was handy for charging phones etc without an adaptor. The shower was nice and hot with good water pressure and Davines toiletries. The rooms are not serviced daily but there is an essentials cupboard if you run out of any necessities and extra towels were available on request. The location was very convenient, only a short walk from Paddington station and Kensington gardens is at the end of the street. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops in surrounding neighbourhoods and public transport was easily accessible. Overall I had a wonderful stay, my only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer. I will 100 percent stay here again next time I come to London. As a solo female traveller, I highly recommend the Sonder.…
Everything was great. Had a little issue with my room the first night but it was quickly remedied and I was moved to a new room. Great location, 10min walk from Paddington Station and across the main road from Kensington Gardens. Wonderful Mediterranean restaurant and a pub less than a block away, along with a few little food stores. Would definitely stay again.
