Stayed at the beautifully appointed Queens Gate with 3 other girlfriends as a base for a school reunion. When we arrived the room we had requested (a family room with 4 separate beds) had not been prepared as Booking.com had not passed the instruction on. However, the reception staff were fantastic and sorted things out whilst we enjoyed a complimentary...

Family room booked, loads of space and very comfortable, clean and tidy, bathroom a bit small for the larger built person. Breakfast good, first morning a bit chaotic, buffet running out of food and toast machine taking ages. The hotel next morning had made changes at breakfast and the experience was much better. Staff friendly and helpful, reception area is...

Stayed 1-night at this hotel. Generally it was nice clean and tidy. Check-in was simple (despite being a tad early) and straight forward, taking only a couple of minutes complete having booked and paid for the room via an online facility. Staff were friendly and informative, providing timing for restaurants, etc, as well as asking if there was anything further...

Dear Robert K, Thank you for staying with us and for your review. We have just 2 single rooms in this 90 room hotel and they are only allocated to guests who have specifically that room type for a small saving of just £20. I recommend that you only ever should book a double room for single occupancy for the...

The rooms at the Queen's Gate Hotel are small but nice, and the hotel bar is reasonable but often extremely busy. The location is excellent with just a short walk to the nearest Tube station and within walking distance of Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Notting Hill, and Portobello Rd.

Only booked this hotel as it came up with a good deal on booking.com, but all was good for the price. Room had been recently decorated. Handy location for Albert Hall, Hyde park and the big museums. No major complaints, but needed the windows to open more to get air into the room.

This hotel is quite a find. Its got everything you need - the room I had was very large by London standards and well equipped. Staff were warm and friendly. A glass of wine in the bar was only £4.50 - it was good quality - which is very reasonable for central London. Breakfast was pretty good although the room...

First of all price......wow! For a london hotel of this standard it was very good value for money. I booked two standard rooms for a weekend in London to see a show at the Royal Albert Hall. The trip was a 70th birthday present for my mother so I wanted it to be special. This hotel certainly delivered. The rooms...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
